Description
Build the Future. From Circuit to Code.
Are you the kind of engineer who enjoys designing a PCB in the morning, debugging firmware in the afternoon, and assembling a prototype before heading home? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where you can own an entire product from concept to deployment? If so, we want to hear from you.
We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Systems Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. This is a hands-on, multidisciplinary role for an engineer who is equally comfortable architecting embedded systems, writing low-level firmware, and bringing hardware to life on the lab bench. You'll play a critical role in transforming ideas into robust, manufacturable products that solve real-world challenges.
ChromoLogic LLC (www.chromologic.com) is a world-class innovation center with advanced scientific research and development in the medical, aerospace and security markets.
What You'll Do
- Architect complex embedded systems and design electronic hardware from concept through production
- Create schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts using tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle
- Develop, debug, and maintain production-quality firmware in C/C++ utilizing bare-metal and RTOS-based architectures
- Design and implement solutions for microcontroller platforms including ARM Cortex, STM32, AVR, and PIC
- Build, assemble, solder, wire, and rework functional prototypes in a laboratory environment
- Perform hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, and system validation using:
- Oscilloscopes
- Logic analyzers
- JTAG/SWD debuggers
- Signal generators and test equipment
- Integrate and validate communication interfaces including BLE, CAN Bus, SPI, I²C, UART, USB
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver high-performance solutions
- Optimize component selection, PCB real estate, manufacturability, reliability, and bill of materials (BOM) costs
- Support prototype testing, production ramp-up, and manufacturing transition activities
- Investigate and solve complex system-level challenges involving electronics, embedded software, sensors, and optics
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field
- 5+ years of professional experience developing embedded electronic systems
- Proven experience in both hardware and firmware development
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems
- Experience designing and routing multi-layer PCBs
- Hands-on experience with prototype assembly, soldering, rework, and electrical debugging
- Solid understanding of digital and analog electronics
- Experience with industry-standard debugging and test equipment
- Familiarity with embedded communication protocols and interfaces
Why You'll Love This Role
This is not a narrow, siloed engineering position. You'll have the opportunity to work across the full technology stack, from system architecture and PCB design to firmware development, hands-on prototyping, and product deployment. If you enjoy building things, solving tough technical challenges, and seeing your designs come to life, you'll thrive here.
Join us and help create next-generation embedded systems that push the boundaries of innovation.
