Description
Purpose:
Promote the Bank’s asset quality through unbiased, accurate, thorough and timely risk assessment, which is accomplished by analyzing financial statements and related credit data. Prepares organized and comprehensive reports which assess the credit-worthiness of a loan request with the necessary information to make an informed lending decision. Prepare organized and comprehensive reports for existing loan relationships that assess the continued credit-worthiness of the client. Monitor loan documentation and credit file information. Provide for increased independence in commercial loan closing process & final determination of required loan documentation.
Essential Functions:
- Obtain all available and necessary financial data from the credit file or outside sources to determine credit worthiness for loans, including identification of risks or strengths.
- Analyzes financial statements & tax returns; study and evaluate the borrowers for repayment capacity, debt service coverage and otherwise overall credit worthiness.
- Maintains effective communication with loan officers throughout underwriting and review process.
- Prepare loan presentations and other essential components of loan monitoring & review
- Maintain accurate tracking of borrowers’ financial statements and tax returns. Communicates with loan officers when up-to-date financial information is needed.
- Conducts annual loan reviews & risk rating borrower relationships. Assists in facilitating loan review with external auditors.
- Rate and grade loans and lines of credit based on criteria established by management.
- Provide detailed reports on loan review findings.
- Provide Senior Management with various commercial loan reports.
- Performs review of real estate appraisal reports and other collateral valuations.
- Prepare & present reports to Loan Committee as needed.
- Performs underwriting on consumer loan requests.
- Assists in administration of the Bank's collection process by monitoring delinquent loans, preparing collection reports, coordinating with lenders and/or contacting borrowers regarding payment obligations.
- Provides backup support for commercial loan due diligence, which may include documentation review and credit file preparation.

- Assists with other projects and duties as needed.
Requirements
- A 4-year college degree in accounting or business or equivalent work experience
- Well-developed analytical and organizational skills. Must exhibit strong attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and work well under time constraints.
- Maintains compliance to all government regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation E (Electronic Funds), Regulation CC (Funds Availability,) CRA and Regulation DD and Loan Policy or other policies pertaining to your position.
Additional Preferred Qualifications (Required for Credit Analyst II or higher)
- Existing knowledge of lending process, underwriting, loan documentation and familiar with tax forms of all kinds.
- Familiarity with various tax forms.
- Familiarity with commercial real estate appraisals.
