Strategic Leadership & Market Development:
• Lead and develop the Global Markets Sales function, ensuring direct engagement with clients as needed.
• Play a leading and visible role in the development and deepening of the Mozambican financial market.
• Champion digital transformation initiatives to enhance client experience and operational efficiency.
• Ensure efficient and effective cost management within the Sales desk.
Client Engagement & Business Growth:
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, originating dated structured transactions and Risk Management Products (RMPs).
• Drive the growth and deeper penetration of Global Markets products and services within the client base, actively expanding market reach and customer portfolio.
• Achieve client acquisition, product volume, and profitability targets in line with strategic objectives.
• Foster strong relationships with the Coverage teams across Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), Business Banking (BB), and Retail Banking (RB).
• Cultivate new client relationships, grow business across existing lines, and introduce innovative products.
• Foster a culture of cross-selling across product lines to maximize client value and revenue generation.
• Proactively anticipate market trends, identify client needs, and originate trade opportunities that deliver superior risk-adjusted returns.
Sales Team Management & Culture:
• Lead and develop the Sales team, ensuring the implementation of a robust training and development plan for all team members.
• Build and monitor a strong performance-driven culture and strategic direction within the Sales team.
• Proactively encourage and embed a sales culture within the Markets team, aligned with customer service excellence and sales targets.
• Strengthen collaboration and alignment across Coverage teams to ensure seamless client engagement.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management:
• Ensure full compliance with Group and local regulatory frameworks, credit policies, and internal standards, maintaining adherence to always approved credit limits.
• Understand and manage risks and risk events (incidents) relevant to the role.
• Ensure at least a PASS rating in all FX trade audits; promptly address and close any findings, ensuring no repeat issues.
• Establish a Service Level Agreement (SLA) between the Sales desk and all service providers and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Provide overall control and oversight to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery to CIB and RBB clients, in line with SLA commitments.
Reporting & Planning:
• Prepare and maintain an annual Global Markets Sales Plan, with consistent monthly performance reviews and feedback.
• Provide timely reporting of client names, volumes, profitability, relationship managers, and dealer-wise segmentation, ensuring regular submission to Finance and relevant business teams for inclusion in the country deck.
• Prepare monthly reporting and participate actively in Markets Daily Calls and weekly ARO Global Markets Update Calls to share market insights and developments.
