Description
ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology
Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips
Working for tomorrow today.
Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.
We design and manage the assembly and integration processes for the entire ZEISS product portfolio – where highly complex optical components are turned into robust, high‑performance products for semiconductor manufacturing. This includes precise joining (screwing, bonding, welding, soldering), alignment and quality‑assured measurement. In this role, you will work closely with expert teams in design, mechanical engineering, equipment engineering, software and cleaning technology to jointly develop optimized tooling and efficient workflows. In close collaboration with Engineering and Operations, you will ensure that robust, high‑performance processes are successfully implemented on the Shopfloor and run reliably over the long term.
Your Role
- Design, develop and introduce assembly and integration equipment/processes for opto‑mechanical components, subassemblies and modules with diverse functionalities into production
- Define and align technical requirements (requirements management) and ensure that assemblies are delivered on time, fully functional and ready for integration into subsequent development stages
- Develop and manage assembly and integration processes for opto‑mechanical components in close collaboration with external partners and suppliers
- Take end‑to‑end responsibility for the processes – from initial concept to final release – with a strong focus on customer needs (internal and external)
- Ensure the operational availability of assembly and integration equipment/processes, including the creation and implementation of maintenance and service plans
Your Profile
- Successfully completed degree in an engineering or technical discipline, e.g. mechanical engineering, physics or comparable field; a PhD or relevant professional experience is an advantage
- Solid knowledge of assembly, integration and manufacturing technologies/processes
- Strong planning and organizational skills, including in dynamic environments with changing requirements
- Strong customer focus and sound understanding of different stakeholder groups (internal partners, suppliers and customers)
- High level of initiative, resilience and flexibility, combined with an understanding of business and cost‑aware decision‑making
- Excellent communication skills and strong assertiveness, enabling effective alignment and the sustainable implementation of technical requirements and process standards
- Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
