Locum Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist – North West England

Pulse Mental Health is recruiting for a Locum Psychologist to join a specialist inpatient mental health service in North West England. This is an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist, Counselling Psychologist or Forensic Psychologist seeking a rewarding locum position within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Working with adults presenting with complex mental health needs, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality psychological care and supporting service users on their recovery journeys. Responsibilities

As a Locum Psychologist, you will:

  • Conduct specialist psychological assessments and develop evidence-based formulations.
  • Deliver individual and group psychological interventions tailored to service user needs.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, care planning and review meetings.
  • Support psychologically informed practice across the service.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to colleagues where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional standards.
  • Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • HCPC registration as a Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist.
  • Doctoral-level qualification in Psychology (or recognised equivalent).
  • Experience working with adults with complex mental health needs.
  • Strong assessment, formulation and intervention skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable

  • Previous experience within inpatient mental health, rehabilitation or secure services.
  • Experience facilitating therapeutic groups.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches.
  • Experience contributing to service development or staff consultation.
