Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Process Safety Leader

At Ecolab, we are currently seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Process Safety Leader for our Supply Chain team. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the mission of this position is to ensure compliance with Safety, Hygiene, and Environmental policies and procedures within the plant and, through continuous improvement processes, strengthen adherence to these standards by establishing a culture of zero incidents and deviations in the facility.

Work Location and Modality

• The position is based at Zona Franca BES, El Coyol, Alajuela

• Scope: Production centers and warehouses in Costa Rica and Central America

• Work scheme: 100% on-site at the plant

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cultural transformation in safety, hygiene, environment, and process safety, coordinating with different areas to ensure implementation and monitoring of the Integrated Management System.

• Manage internal and regional audits, ensuring compliance with standards, promoting continuous improvement, and sharing best practices across plants.

• Provide technical and strategic support to area leaders, positively influencing the adoption of safe practices and active team engagement.

• Represent the company before government agencies, ensuring compliance with current legal regulations and managing the corresponding documentation.

• Monitor working conditions and risks, proposing improvements, managing incidents, and leading corrective actions to guarantee safe operations.

• Administer indicators, reports, and resources for the area, including personal protective equipment, drills, training, and specific programs such as ergonomics and process safety.

• Design and implement prevention programs, accident investigations, change management, and contractor and transporter standards, ensuring a sustainable safety culture.

• Ensure legal compliance and the implementation of company programs in the areas of Safety, Hygiene, Environment, and Process Safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Hygiene or Engineering with a specialization in Safety and Hygiene.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles within industrial plants.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Intermediate to Advanced level of English (mandatory).

• Experience with continuous improvement tools such as Lean Six Sigma / TPM.
