Description

Airgun & Crossbow Service Technician / Shop Lead

Reports to: CEO, GoGun LLC
Location: Orlando / Central Florida area — local hybrid, with recurring access to the Orlando warehouse
Compensation: $24–$38 per hour, depending on experience and capabilities
Employment type: Full-time

GoGun expects to move into a new Orlando warehouse in September or October 2026. Before the move, the person hired may work from home or from GoGun’s existing warehouse in Winter Park.

The day-to-day work location can be flexible. A candidate who lives within reasonable driving distance of Orlando and has a secure, properly equipped home workshop may perform most repairs, product testing, documentation, and content work from home. They would visit the warehouse as needed—often once a week or once every two weeks—to pick up or return products, handle service inventory, or address work that needs to be completed on-site.

A dedicated work area will also be available at GoGun’s Orlando warehouse for someone who prefers to work there regularly or full-time. However, most of GoGun’s team works remotely, so working from the warehouse will not necessarily mean working alongside other GoGun employees every day.

This is not a work-from-anywhere position because the role requires recurring physical access to products and the Orlando warehouse. GoGun may still consider an unusually strong candidate outside the area who has a secure, fully equipped workshop and a reliable way to receive and process products.

The Role

GoGun is looking for a resourceful, hands-on technician to take ownership of product service and repairs while managing service inventory, supporting technical content, and handling periodic warehouse responsibilities.

You will diagnose and repair airguns, crossbows, and related products; improve our service processes; assist with product development; and help explain technical topics through videos, manuals, and troubleshooting guides.

You do not need previous experience with every GoGun product. We are interested in people who can understand mechanical systems, diagnose unfamiliar problems, communicate clearly, and follow through without constant supervision.

This could be a strong fit for an experienced bow technician, gunsmith, armorer, bicycle or automotive technician, drone or RC technician, fabricator, machinist, or serious maker who enjoys solving practical problems.

How the Team Works

Most of GoGun’s team works remotely. Whether you choose to work primarily from a home workshop, from GoGun’s warehouse, or through a combination of the two, most collaboration with the GoGun team will happen virtually.

You will join one virtual team meeting each workday and otherwise manage your responsibilities independently, communicate proactively, and ask for help when needed.

When working at the warehouse, you will often be the only GoGun employee on-site, alongside employees of our fulfillment partner. The CEO may stop in periodically but will not work beside you every day.

This role is best suited to someone who values flexibility and autonomy, maintains an organized workspace, tracks products and parts carefully, and does not require an on-site manager to remain productive.

What You’ll Do

Product Service and Repair — approximately 40%

  • Diagnose, service, repair, and test airguns, crossbows, and related products.
  • Manage incoming repairs from initial diagnosis through completion.
  • Document problems, work performed, parts used, and testing results.
  • Help customers troubleshoot technical issues and determine whether they need instructions, replacement parts, repair, or warranty support.
  • Develop more consistent and efficient repair procedures.

Technical Content and Customer Support — approximately 30%

  • Create or assist with instructional videos covering product setup, use, service, and repair.
  • Be comfortable appearing on camera when needed. Much of the content can focus on your hands and voice, or involve supporting another presenter.
  • Help create short-form product, repair, and demonstration videos for YouTube Shorts and similar platforms.
  • Help develop manuals, troubleshooting guides, FAQs, and service documentation.
  • Assist with YouTube and social-media production by building props and targets, preparing products, scouting locations, and coordinating materials.
  • Suggest content that increases customer confidence and reduces repetitive support questions.

Service Inventory and Warehouse Coordination — approximately 15%

  • Pick up and return products, repair items, replacement parts, and supplies between your primary workspace and GoGun’s warehouse.
  • Periodically receive, count, organize, or audit products and service inventory at the warehouse.
  • Maintain accurate service-parts inventory and track products assigned to your workspace.
  • Prepare or coordinate occasional shipments with GoGun’s fulfillment partner.
  • Order replacement parts, shop supplies, and packaging materials.
  • Help prevent inventory shortages, misplaced parts, and fulfillment errors.

Product Development and Prototyping — approximately 10%

  • Assist with product testing, design refinement, and troubleshooting.
  • Build prototypes, fixtures, targets, jigs, and small production runs.
  • Perform light assembly, kitting, and quality-control work.
  • Provide clear technical feedback to manufacturers and vendors.
  • Help move products from early prototypes to reliable production items.

Workshop and Equipment — approximately 5%

  • Keep tools, equipment, parts, and work areas organized and ready for use.
  • Perform routine maintenance on shop equipment, including 3D printers.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and functional workshop.

What We Need

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand tools and shop equipment.
  • Practical experience operating and troubleshooting common 3D printers.
  • Comfort using email, video meetings, spreadsheets, and basic business software.
  • A systematic approach to diagnosing mechanical problems.
  • The ability to learn unfamiliar products and technical systems quickly.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage several priorities and complete work without close supervision.
  • Comfort working in a fast-changing small-business environment.
  • Willingness to explain technical work to customers and, when needed, on camera.

A college degree is not required. Trade training, military experience, technical certifications, manufacturer training, and substantial hands-on experience are all valuable.

Particularly Helpful Experience

Experience in one or more of these areas would be useful, but we do not expect one person to have everything:

  • Airgun, crossbow, compound-bow, archery-equipment, or firearm repair
  • Bicycle, automotive, motorcycle, powersports, drone, RC, or small-equipment repair
  • Gunsmithing or armorer work
  • Warehouse, shipping, inventory, or fulfillment operations
  • CAD, machining, prototyping, welding, or light fabrication
  • Creating instructional, repair, workshop, or product-demonstration videos
  • Shopify, shipping software, spreadsheets, or inventory systems

What Success Looks Like

Within your first few months, you will:

  • Learn GoGun’s major product lines and common service issues.
  • Complete repairs accurately and document the work performed.
  • Establish control of the repair queue and communicate clear status updates.
  • Keep tools, replacement parts, and work areas organized.
  • Identify recurring product or instruction problems and recommend improvements.
  • Help create useful service documentation and instructional content.
  • Take ownership of technical problems and carry them through to resolution.

Schedule and Work Environment

  • Primarily Monday through Friday.
  • One virtual team meeting each workday.
  • Work may be performed from a suitable home workshop, GoGun’s Orlando warehouse, or a combination of the two.
  • If working primarily from home, warehouse visits will be required as operational needs arise—often once a week or once every two weeks, although the frequency may vary with repair volume and inventory needs.
  • A warehouse workspace will be available for someone who prefers to work there regularly.
  • There may be an occasional opportunity to attend a trade show or industry event, generally no more than once a year. Regular travel is not required.

Physical and Work Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move boxes, products, parts, and equipment as needed.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and work with tools for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate safely in a workshop and warehouse environment.
  • Reliable transportation to GoGun’s Orlando warehouse and the ability to safely transport products and parts between work locations.
  • Anyone working primarily from home must have a secure, appropriate workspace, suitable tools, and the ability to store and process company products safely.
  • Any candidate approved to work fully remotely outside Central Florida must have a secure, fully equipped workshop and a reliable method for receiving and returning products.

Why GoGun?

  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Work directly with innovative airguns, crossbows, slingshots, and related products.
  • Receive free products and opportunities to test new releases.
  • Help shape products before they reach the market.
  • Create instructional content and YouTube Shorts that may reach hundreds of thousands of viewers.
  • Work in a flexible, high-ownership environment with room to grow as GoGun grows.

How to Stand Out

Along with your application, show us something you have diagnosed, repaired, built, modified, or improved.

Links to photos, videos, a YouTube channel, a portfolio, or a short explanation of a technical project are welcome. We care more about evidence of mechanical ability, resourcefulness, and clear communication than polished résumé language.
