Job Description:
The Laborer is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at a construction site. Duties may include loading and unloading tools or raw materials, assembling scaffolding or other pieces of equipment, and digging or filling in pits throughout the construction process. The Laborer performs physical labor throughout the building process.
What You Will Do:
- Responsible for the cleaning and preparing construction sites.
- Loads and unloads materials and equipment.
- Builds and takes down scaffolding and temporary structures.
- Digs trenches, compacts earth and backfills holes.
- Operates and tends machinery and heavy equipment.
- Follows instructions from supervisors and implements construction plans.
- Assists skilled tradespeople in their duties.
- Carries duties related to opening and closing the site.
- Maintains site clean and orderly meeting sanitation standards.
- Reads and interprets safety and employment manuals and other work-related documents.
- Assists in an entire team effort.
- Complies and follows all safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly facility.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Ability to perform physical labor.
- Possess basic knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Must be organized and able to prioritize and multi-task.
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Good reading skills preferred.
