Job Summary:

This role involves customer service, food preparation, sales, facility maintenance, inventory management, and basic financial tasks. The role requires providing efficient and courteous service to winter visitors, maintaining cleanliness, managing supplies, and assisting with other duties as needed. 

 

The Details:Position Type: SeasonalSeason Dates: Early December 2026 to Early March 2027Pay: $16.00/hourSchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily retail operations, ensuring an exceptional guest shopping experience and adherence to company hospitality standards.
  • Supervise and support retail team members by providing coaching on product knowledge, customer service, and sales techniques.
  • Assist guests on the sales floor, answer questions, and provide accurate information to enhance their experience.
  • Maintain attractive, fully stocked, and organized merchandise displays in accordance with visual merchandising standards.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling, point-of-sale transactions, and compliance with company financial procedures.
  • Monitor inventory, process deliveries, maintain operational records, and support inventory control efforts.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized retail environment while promoting environmental stewardship.
  • Collaborate with managers and support teams to address operational needs, resolve concerns, and drive store success.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to communicate professionally and with courtesy.
  • Have accurate and moderately fast computer skills
  • Have basic accounting and filing skills.
  • Have ability to accept direction and work cooperatively with other department personnel and to function with other Xanterra Departments, as needed.
  • Basic understanding of Word and Excel computer programs preferred.
  • Understand overall inventory control procedures; assist with inventory files, as needed.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to safely operate a company vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):

  • Three years of prior experience in a retail environment.
  • Demonstrated Food & Beverage background preferred.

Physical Requirements include:

  • Must be able to walk and/or stand for at least 30 minutes at a time.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work at elevations of more than 7700 feet.
  • Must have hand dexterity capable of sorting paperwork and small items.
  • Must be able to work in close proximity of large game animals like elk, while respecting their space and not approaching.
