Senior Specialist, Acquiring & Clearing Operations
Mastercard's is expanding its Clearinghouse capabilities in Mexico to support acquiring institutions and strengthen the domestic payments ecosystem.
As a Senior Specialist, Acquiring and Cleaning Operations, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and ultimately operating Mastercard's Acquirer Clearinghouse model in Mexico. This position requires deep operational knowledge of acquiring processes, clearing and settlement, payment ecosystem interactions, and operational governance to ensure a secure, resilient, and scalable payment infrastructure.
Position Summary
The Acquirer Clearinghouse Operations Senior Specialist will be responsible for establishing and operating the end-to-end operational framework supporting Mastercard's Acquirer Clearinghouse in Mexico.
This role will partner with acquiring institutions, processors, clearing participants, internal technology teams, Network Operations, Clearing Operations, and ecosystem partners to ensure operational readiness, service excellence, operational resilience, and continuous improvement.
Primary Responsibilities
Acquirer Clearinghouse Operations
Lead operational readiness activities supporting the implementation of Mastercard's Acquirer Clearinghouse capabilities in Mexico.
Define and execute operational processes supporting Mastercard's Acquirer Clearing model, ensuring operational integrity across end to end clearing and settlement activities.
Monitor clearing and settlement processing, including validation of clearing files, settlement balances, and reconciliation activities to ensure accuracy and operational excellence
Manage production support activities following go live.
Ecosystem & Partner Management
Serve as key operational liaison with acquiring institutions and ecosystem participants.
Coordinate operational activities with organizations such as Prosa, eGlobal and other ecosystem participants.
Support operational governance with processors and third-party service providers.
Participate in industry forums supporting domestic payment infrastructure.
Build strong operational relationships across the acquiring ecosystem.
Operational Risk & Incident Management
Monitor operational performance and manage operational incidents, escalations, and production support activities to ensure service reliability.
Lead incident investigation coordinate root cause analysis and drives corrective and preventive actions to minimize operational risk.
Support crisis management activities when required.
Clearing & Settlement Operations
Perform reconciliation and validation activities across clearing outputs, settlement records, and CML information to ensure settlement accuracy and operational integrity.
Investigate operational discrepancies, manage exception resolution, and monitor key operational controls.
Produce operational reporting and KPIs to support performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
Regulatory & Operational Governance
Support regulatory readiness activities and ensure ongoing operational compliance with Mastercard standards and local requirements
Maintain operational procedures, documentation and controls to support audit readiness and operational governance
Participate in internal and external audits, and drive remediation activities as needed.
Support business continuity planning.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to automate and enhance acquiring and clearing operational processes.
Drive improvements to operational workflows, controls, and service delivery.
Standardize operational procedures to support scalability, efficiency, and operational resilience.
Support the launch of new market initiatives and ecosystem enhancements.
Contribute to the implementation and ongoing evolution of Mastercard's clearing capabilities in Mexico.
Preferred Experience
4 to 6 years of experience supporting Acquiring Operations, Payment Processing, Clearing & Settlement, or related payments environments.
Experience working with acquiring institutions, payment processors, or domestic clearing infrastructures.
Strong understanding of:
