Job Description Summary:
This position has two primary areas of responsibility, Pulmonary Services and Heart & Vascular Services.1. Care Site Director for Heart & Vascular Services, which includes responsibility for the integration and direction of H&V services at Grant Medical Center. This position is responsible for smooth, lean operations and the overall success of the balanced scorecard for Cath Lab, EP Lab, PCU, Cardiac Imaging & Vascular Services. This includes accountability for patient care and safety and monitoring and integration of service line processes and accreditation requirements. In addition, this position is responsible for overall growth of the program including the development of a strategic plan with system partners.
2. Site Director for Pulmonary Services, responsibilities include overseeing and managing the operations of the Pulmonary Services section and assisting the Administrative and Medical Directors in departmental planning, organization, and direction. This includes accountability for patient care and safety and monitoring and integration of service line processes and accreditation requirements. In addition, this position is responsible for overall growth of the program including the co-development of a strategic plan with system partners.
Responsibilities And Duties:
1. 50%: Daily operations - Monitors staffing needs and distribution of resources; monitors staffing assignments and productivity; identifies and implements quality improvements; logs incident reports and implements corrective action plans when needed; coordinates respiratory care services with nursing units and physicians; identifies opportunities for computer application and other increased efficiencies; monitors optimal use of all resources; monitors student affiliation activities; reviews, updates, and develops policies and procedures; insures consistent interpretation and implementation of hospital/department policies and procedures; Provides direct leadership to both Respiratory & Heart/Vascular managers; Ensures lean daily operations are effectively executed in all areas of responsibility2. 25%: Strategic planning – Responsible for development of an overall strategic plan in collaboration with the service line & OPG. Works directly with executive leadership, physicians, leadership team and associates to recognize opportunities for growth. Develops/maintains metrics to ensure success as anticipated
3. 10%: System responsibilities Responsible for system initiatives as related to Pulmonary and Heart & Vascular.
4. 15%: Physician Relationships – Works collaboratively with Medical Director to promote positive relationships with Oncology physicians. Responsive to physician concerns regarding operations and patient issues. Works directly with the physicians to collaborate on goals, metrics, new technology, etc.
