Description
The Welder performs various types of welding, including mig, tig, arc, and spot, to fabricate parts and products.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Use welding equipment to fabricate parts and products.
- Read and interpret specification documents, drawings, prints, and welding symbols.
- Plan, layout, and perform a variety of work.
- Regulate heat and feed and select appropriate electrodes, tips, and rods.
- Adhere to 6-S by maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
- Visually inspect parts / products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Understand, embrace, and adhere to the principles of Lean, and participate in Lean events when available. Use Lean tools and processes to identify and eliminate waste.
- Work in an extremely safe manner, following all safety rules and regulations.

Requirements
- Welding certification.
- Three (3) years welding experience (mig, tig, arc, and spot) with sheet metal and tubing.
- Strong hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and correctly interpret drawings and related documents.
- Ability to read and determine accurate measurements.
- Ability to consistently perform manual labor and heavy lifting and to sustain physical work activities, such as lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, and walking.
- Good attendance, work performance and safety records.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work extra hours as needed, sometimes on short notice.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, see, and hear. The employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach with hands and arms. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Minimal travel and/or driving is required. Noise levels are typically moderate to loud.
