Senior Technical Consultant - Casualty Claims (General Liability)
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Consultant - Casualty Claims to join a dynamic claims team. This role involves managing complex commercial general liability (CGL) claims, including litigated cases, coverage analysis, and resolution of disputes. As a Senior Technical Consultant, will play a pivotal role in analyzing, investigating, negotiating, and resolving high-exposure claims while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional service.

- Base Salary: $95,000 - $120,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Responsibilities
- Handle complex CGL claims, including litigated cases with exposure up to $1M in primary insurance.
- Conduct thorough investigations, including gathering facts, analyzing statements, and evaluating damages.
- Collaborate with defense counsel and other parties to achieve timely and cost-effective claim resolutions.
- Draft and review coverage letters, reservation of rights (ROR) letters, and tender letters.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 125 claims, with 80% being litigated.
- Represent the company at mediations, arbitrations, and trials, with occasional travel (5-10 business days per year).
- Provide technical guidance and support to adjusters and other team members.
- Analyze contracts and leases to identify risk transfer opportunities.
- Maintain compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, and case law.
- Operate effectively in a paperless environment and utilize technology to enhance productivity.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of commercial general liability claims experience with an insurance carrier. TPA experience will only be considered if limited to 2 years or less and supplemented by prior carrier experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; industry designations preferred.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of bodily injury claims, premises liability, product liability, and construction risks.
- Proficiency in coverage analysis and drafting positional coverage letters.
- Familiarity with applicable statutes, regulations, and case law.
- Skills:
- Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to achieve favorable outcomes without damaging relationships.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Licensing: Must possess or obtain appropriate state adjuster licenses and maintain continuing education credits.
