Tasks and responsibilities
Design, develop, implement, and test embedded software
Perform manual and automated verification of software functionality
Test software to ensure compliance with technical specifications
Document implemented software solutions
Debug and troubleshoot embedded system issues
Apply functional and object-oriented programming practices in Linux-based systems
Continuously improve software quality, performance, and maintainability
Collaborate with Customer Support to investigate and resolve field issues
Knowledge, skills and experience required
Academic degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable field
Strong Linux shell skills
Good programming skills in Rust and/or C/C++
Experience with software debugging tools and methods (e.g., GDB, code inspection, logging)
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Experience with Git version control
Experience with Embedded Linux
Good communication skills in German and English
Independent working style with a high level of personal responsibility and initiative
Nice-to-have skills and experience
Experience with build systems, especially Yocto
Experience in Linux kernel driver development
Experience designing or developing real-time applications
Practical knowledge of inter-process communication mechanisms
Knowledge of optical networking technologies
