Smart City Initiatives – Data Science Intern
Job Description
We are hiring for a Research Intern to work on challenging data science problem to enable new opportunities with connected and autonomous vehicles. For a successful candidate, creative thinking and problem-solving skill are the most important skills, Machine Learning background is a plus. You will be learning not only the day-to-day responsibilities of a researcher within our facility but will be tasked with completing a project that directly supports the goals of the Nissan-Mitsubishi-Renault Alliance.
Potential Internship Projects:
· Driver behavior under different road conditions
· Provide insights for ADAS and AV development.
During your internship, you will have the chance to work on real world data collected from a fleet of pilot vehicles in different regions and HD Map data.
Graduate Areas of Study under Consideration (not limited to this list):
· Computer Science
· Mathematics
· Statistics
In order to qualify for this role, you must:
· Currently be pursuing a Master’s, or PhD degree in Core Engineering discipline.
· Enrolled in a full-time Ph.D. degree program in Machine Learning, Data Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or other quantitative discipline.
· Strong proficiency in Python
· Familiarity with database such PostgreSQL
· Creative thinking and good problem-solving skill.
· Experience with map, OSM or HDMAP is a strong plus.
· Experience with GPS data is a strong plus.
· Familiarity with data mining, cleansing, analyzing, modeling, and integration techniques is a plus.
· Experience with building and refining machine learning models is a plus.
· Experience with graph algorithm is a plus.
