Job Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant provides care for the patient under the physician's direction. Includes preparing patients for exams, assisting during treatments, coordinating tests and follow-up care, and recording treatment in the medical record. Assists with explaining patient instructions to the patient/family. Demonstrates competency and skills to serve patients of all ages including neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Performs other duties as necessary related to front office registration, laboratory testing, and radiology functions within a specialty setting. All Sharecare clinicians are required to participate in the orientation and to take the pre and post-tests to review competency during orientation. Yearly competency test is required for all Sharecare clinicians.
Essential Job Functions:
Entering patient information in electronic medical records (EMR) system.
Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant).
Perform variety of office responsibilities: answering phones, taking messages and assist triage.

Demonstrated ability to engage positively with patients and families and to work as a team with staff and providers.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Qualifications:
Current Medical Assistant license appropriate for the state in which the Business Unit is located and able to obtain licensure in other states, as required by state law or contract.
Must have received the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment.
Minimum 6 months experience preferred.
