Summary:
In this role, you will develop and execute high-impact consulting initiatives, provide data-driven insights, and establish trusted advisor relationships with senior healthcare leaders. You will also manage projects, guide teams, and deliver sustainable solutions. This role will conduct comprehensive operating room (OR) assessments focused on perioperative supply chain performance, including surgical supply utilization, preference card optimization, bill-only process management, and opportunities to reduce clinical variation, improve operational efficiency, and lower supply costs.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Consulting & Insights Development
- Provide expertise and strategic direction to improve cost efficiency, reduce clinical variation, and enhance patient care quality by utilizing data analytics to extract meaningful insights and solve complex challenges.
- Synthesize data from multiple sources to generate strategic recommendations that drive informed decision-making, while challenging the status quo through innovative solutions that boost surgical services performance.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage large and cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
- Facilitate meetings, presentations, and discussions to drive engagement and informed decision-making.
Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead and manage complex projects and workstreams by ensuring timely execution, optimal resource allocation, and value delivery.
- Develop and oversee comprehensive project plans that align with scope, schedule, and budget while meeting performance metrics, ensuring the successful and sustainable implementation of Vizient tools and technologies at client sites.
Client & Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior-level healthcare leaders, including periodic engagement with C-suite executives, and proactively develop trusted partnerships with members, colleagues, and stakeholders to foster collaboration.
- Facilitate high-impact discussions and decision-making meetings with executive leadership, while providing business development support through lead generation and active participation in closing sales.
Thought Leadership & Practice Development
- Drive thought leadership by presenting at industry conferences, publishing insights, and contributing to the development of new consulting services within the Surgical Services domain, while continuously enhancing products, services, tools, processes, and consulting methodologies through industry expertise and practice development.
- Collaborate with Spend Management leaders to align strategic goals and ensure coordinated execution throughout engagements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree desired; clinical degree strongly preferred.
- 7 or more years of relevant experience in clinical and cost improvement initiatives within a healthcare provider organization and/or consulting firm required.
- Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse experience required, with a strong understanding of perioperative clinical workflows.
- Demonstrated experience in evaluating operating room supply utilization, preference card optimization, bill-only implant management, and physician engagement to drive supply chain efficiencies, cost saving's and operational improvements desired.
- Proven ability to develop and execute operational strategies, analyze financial and quality data, and drive process improvements.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage executives, providers, and healthcare staff at all levels.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet client’s needs.

Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $206,000.00.
