What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is seeking experts with experimental and/or theoretical experience developing new technologies or capabilities to provide Scientific Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to program managers at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in one or more of the following areas:
Quantum technology for computation, sensing, networking, or algorithms
Photonic systems for imaging, sensing, or computation
Physics including high-energy physics, accelerator physics, and device physics
Chemistry including electrochemistry, biochemistry, and specialty chemicals
Biology including biotechnology and bioengineering
Advanced manufacturing/fabrication
Materials science for manufacturing new structural or functional materials
Complex systems and adaptive systems
Novel sensing paradigms/architectures
Nonconventional and alternative computing
Generative AI, machine learning, or language model deployment
Applications of AI/ML to any topic above
As a part of our team, you’ll serve as a strategic technical advisor advising on advanced government-funded research and development programs. You’ll work with world-class scientists and engineers to provide strategic assessments of emerging technologies. You will maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs, and facilitating the transition of program deliverables to DoD stakeholders.
These roles require 5 days on client site in Arlington, VA.
What You Will Need:
Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "SECRET" security clearance; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of clearance prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE "SECRET" or higher-level clearance are preferred
Master’s degree in a STEM field
THREE (3) or more years of active research or product development experience
FIVE (5) or more years' experience in project management and/or as a technical liaison. Experience should include, but not be limited to:
Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar areas needed to broadly support the PM’s portfolio
Excellent communication skills - both written (to include PowerPoint) and oral
Self-starter who is willing to both take the lead and provide support in a team role in a complex, fast-paced, cross-disciplinary work environment
Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests
Flexible and readily adaptable to change
Doctorate degree may be used in lieu of FIVE (5) of the required years' experience
What Would be Nice to Have:
An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "TOP SECRET/SCI (TS/SCI)" Federal or DoD security clearance
Doctorate degree in a STEM field with zero years of post-doctoral experience
PMP certification
Experience performing or supporting DoD or government-sponsored research activities
Prior experience working with DARPA
Experience leveraging and integrating AI tools to improve processes and workflow efficiency
Experience with Microsoft Office
