We are seeking an RF Project Manager (Technical/Project Management Role) to support the United States Capitol Police (USCP)’s, Office of Information Systems (OIS), Radio Services Division (RSD). Work will be primarily performed on-site at the Capitol Complex in Washington, D.C. This is a hands-on role combining project management responsibilities with direct technical work on radio systems and RF infrastructure.

So, what will the RF Project Manager Terrestris do?

As the RF Project Manager, you will support the United States Capitol Police (USCP) in their Office of Information Systems (OIS) and the Radio Services Division (RSD). The ideal candidate will bring strong project management expertise, leadership, and technical understanding of RF/IT systems and radio communications technology to the USCP and will also be able to provide hands-on trunked and conventional radio systems maintenance technical knowledge and support.

What does a typical day look like for the RF Project Manager?

You will:

• Maintain trunked and conventional radio systems, including core hardware, network devices, and associated infrastructure components.

• Oversee deliverables and ensure compliance with performance expectations for the Service Desk, Field Technicians, Travel Team, and Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Specialist personnel. The Manager will coordinate closely with the Radio Services Division (RSD) to ensure adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and successful project execution.

• Perform configuration activities for radio equipment, devices, and network components.

• Maintain RF antenna systems across multiple frequencies and power levels, including transmit combiners, receive multicouplers, duplexers, diplexers, pass/reject filters, and precision-tuned filter assemblies. Personnel shall utilize industry-standard test equipment, including Vector Network Analyzers, return loss bridges, tracking generators, spectrum analyzers, antenna analyzers, and power meters.

• Verify that all equipment performance meets or exceeds manufacturer specifications and operational requirements to ensure optimal radio site performance and reliable coverage within designated service areas.

• Maintain complete inventories of systems, components, and devices; document performance metrics and configuration changes; and maintain site binders containing layouts, wiring diagrams, network references, service documentation, and operational site information for offline mission support.

• Report equipment, system, or performance deficiencies to the RSD and provide recommendations for monitoring, restoration, repair, or enhancement based on operational risk and mission impact.

• Coordinate critical mission projects that have technical dependency deadlines and integration requirements that have to be followed for successful outcomes

• Support collaboration efforts between end-users, stakeholders, and division staff to ensure project requirements, objectives, and operational priorities remain clear, coordinated, and effectively communicated.

• Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.

• Identify project risks and issues proactively and follow up as needed to ensure prompt resolution.

• Anticipate clients’ needs by identifying gaps and proposing recommendations to address them.

• Assist with scheduling division members to actions / tasks and objectives.

• Assist in managing projects and programs transitioning from implementation into operational maintenance and sustainment phases.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we’re looking for if you have:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with Land Mobile Radio Systems and their operation and administration, or an equivalent amount of experience with critical mission systems that require focused operation and maintenance oversight.

• Strong project leadership, customer service orientation, and interpersonal skills with ability to lead an agile team through strong leadership, engagement, and team collaboration.

• Flexible and hands-on approach to delivery of work.

• Proficiency using electronic communication using M365, Teams, texting, voice, email, word processing, and project management tools.

• Excellent writing, communication, and organization skills.
