The opportunity

You'll bring hands-on engineering expertise to the specification, design, installation, maintenance and continuous improvement of both manual and automated test systems.
This is an opportunity to work across a broad range of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic systems, solving complex test and equipment challenges and helping improve capability across our operation.
Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations and suppliers, you'll play an important role in keeping our test capability reliable, traceable and ready to support evolving product requirements.
What you'll be doing
- Design, specify, install, optimise and maintain test equipment and processes used to verify aerospace products.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic test systems, identifying root causes of equipment and test failures.
- Develop test stands, automated test solutions, programmable logic controller (PLC) or data-acquisition programs, along with supporting test instructions and procedures.
- Maintain test equipment, calibration records, preventive-maintenance schedules and technical documentation to support safe and reliable operations.
- Support new product introduction, test capability development and modifications to existing equipment as product requirements evolve.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations and suppliers to resolve test-related issues and improve capability.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma and data-driven improvement methods to increase test efficiency, reduce downtime and maintain quality.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience working with electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic test equipment within a production environment.
- Experience with test stands, pumps, motors, valves, actuators and mechanical/electronic measurement instruments.
- Experience reading blueprints, schematics and overhaul manuals, with the ability to perform failure analysis and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
