Full Description:

Seattle Children's Therapeutics (SCTx) at Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI) is an exciting venture aimed at leveraging a biotech industry business model in a non-profit context to bring cutting edge curative cell, gene, and protein therapies to defeat pediatric cancer and beyond.  We are seeking a bright, enthusiastic, and highly motivated biologist to join our Research and Development group.  The work within the R&D lab is highly collaborative, fast-paced, and incredibly exciting.  We look for people who are inspired by our mission and who would fit well with the collaborative, rigorous, and entrepreneurial spirit of our research team culture.

The primary purpose of this position is to help lead the development of our allogeneic cell therapy program, including the development of CAR-T, CAR-NK, and booster molecules to create more efficacious cell therapies for pediatric diseases. Under the direction of the Research Director, the successful candidate will use her/his established skills to create and assess the therapeutic potential of these products, in collaboration with other team members and external groups.  The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing projects from the ground up, especially in a translational setting, and will have significant experience mentoring junior scientists.  This position requires creativity, a positive mindset, a team-oriented and collaborative approach, the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, and excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.  The candidate will be required to participate and present data in weekly lab meetings, maintain an up-to-date and well-organized electronic laboratory notebook, and rigorously follow Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines.  Additionally, the candidate will be expected to participate in grant and manuscript writing.  Above all, a willingness to learn, passion for our mission, collaboration, and creativity are crucial for success at Seattle Children's Therapeutics (SCTx).
