Who you are:
The Senior Cyber Infrastructure & Tooling Engineer builds and maintains specialized technical environments and custom software tools that support cybersecurity operations. This role develops automated workflows, secure data pipelines, and virtualized testing environments used for incident response and threat analysis. The engineer drives process improvements, standardizes secure engineering practices, and mentors team members while ensuring systems remain resilient, scalable, and optimized for mission needs.
What you do:
- Design and maintain multi-platform virtualized environments for testing, analysis, and security operations.
- Build custom software utilities, automation scripts, and data processing tools to support rapid cyber response.
- Develop secure data ingest pipelines and integrate tools across commercial, government, and custom systems.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, version control standards, and automation practices for rapid capability delivery.
- Support secure posture development and ensure environments remain reliable and scalable.
- Translate analytical or mission requirements into functional, secure software solutions.
- Provide mentorship and contribute to cross-team standardization and process improvement.
What you need:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, software engineering, or infrastructure automation.
- Experience with virtualized environments, multi-platform ecosystems, and secure system design.
- Strong programming skills in modern languages used for automation and tooling development.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated build processes.
- Knowledge of secure data flows, encryption, and cybersecurity operations support tools.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience supporting SOC or tactical cybersecurity teams.
- Familiarity with mixed vendor environments, commercial/GOTS/COTS tools, and secure multi-enclave operations.
- Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CEH, or DevSecOps/cloud credentials.
