Test Integration Engineer I | Pune, India | Full-time
If you are an experienced testing and integration professional who enjoys leading complex system validation activities and working directly with customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams, this is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering Vanderlande’s advanced automation solutions.
Your Role
As a Test Integration Engineer I, you will provide functional leadership for testing activities across the project lifecycle. You will own the overall testing strategy, coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, lead customer test workshops, and ensure the system is ready for successful acceptance.
You will work closely with Project Leaders, Engineering teams, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure that testing activities are effectively planned, executed, and aligned with project requirements.
What you will do / Key Responsibilities
Test Strategy & Project Ownership
• Own and drive the testing strategy across the project lifecycle.
• Define and manage test approaches, test plans, test readiness criteria, and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure testing activities are aligned with project requirements, system specifications, and customer expectations.
• Lead operational scenario validation to ensure the system performs effectively under realistic operating conditions.
• Approve test readiness and ensure required prerequisites are in place before testing activities commence.
• Lead and coordinate FAT, IHT, SFT, SAT, and other system acceptance activities as applicable.
• Monitor overall testing progress and provide clear reporting to project leadership.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
• Lead customer test workshops and facilitate technical discussions related to system testing and acceptance.
• Act as the key testing interface between the customer and internal engineering teams.
• Present test results, issues, risks, and mitigation plans to relevant stakeholders.
• Manage expectations and ensure alignment between customer requirements and testing outcomes.
• Participate in engineering discussions, design reviews, and system-level technical meetings.
Multidisciplinary Integration
• Coordinate testing activities across software, controls, electrical, mechanical, simulation, and other engineering disciplines.
• Drive system integration activities and ensure interfaces between disciplines are properly validated.
• Coordinate resolution of complex cross-disciplinary defects and technical issues.
• Guide Test Integration Engineers and provide functional leadership to the testing team.
• Support and mentor junior engineers and promote consistent testing practices.
Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
• Identify testing-related project risks and support the development of mitigation and contingency plans.
• Drive defect investigations and ensure critical issues are followed through to resolution.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, tools, methodologies, and system validation.
• Promote standardisation and reuse of test procedures and best practices across projects.
• Ensure complete and accurate test documentation and project handover deliverables.
What you bring
• B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical, E&TC, or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in system integration, software testing, system testing, or a related engineering environment, with demonstrated experience in a testing or integration lead role.
• Strong understanding of software testing and development life cycles, including V-Model, CMMI, Agile, and test processes.
• Strong hands-on experience with Polarion, Jira, Oracle PL/SQL, and Unix.
• Strong experience in developing and reviewing test strategies, test plans, test cases, integration plans, system designs, and acceptance criteria.
• Proven ability to lead testing activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in leading defect investigations and technical issue resolution.
• Strong ownership, leadership, and mentoring capabilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively and support customer projects based on business requirements.
• Knowledge of airport baggage handling, material handling, distribution systems, PLC, and SCADA is highly advantageous.
• Previous experience in airport automation or a similar complex automation environment is an advantage.
