Energy Infrastructure Partners AG ("EIP") is seeking a Swiss-qualified Legal Counsel to join our General Counsel department for a fixed-term assignment of 6 to 12 months.

In this role, you will support the General Counsel in further developing the legal department and strengthening legal standards across the company. You will provide clear, pragmatic legal advice on regulatory and fund-related matters and ensure compliance with all applicable Swiss regulations and legal requirements, in particular financial market regulations.

The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Swiss financial market law and working knowledge of Luxembourg funds law.

  • Advise on Swiss financial market legislation, including FINIA, FINSA, CISA, ASV and BVV2, as well as applicable FINMA regulations, circulars and requirements.
  • Advise, where relevant, on EU regulatory frameworks, including AIFMD, MiFID II and SFDR, in support of the role's primary focus on Swiss regulatory matters.
  • Lead and support Swiss regulatory and cross-border matters, primarily with a Swiss focus, including matters relating to regulatory authorizations and interaction with authorities such as FINMA and OAK-BV.
  • Advise on, where applicable, the revision of legal fund documents, marketing and distribution of investment funds and financial products, primarily across Switzerland and, where relevant, in international jurisdictions.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial, corporate and investment-related agreements, including investment management, placement agent, introducer and service agreements.
  • Support, where required, the Luxembourg affiliate on any legal matters connected to the management of private market funds, including collective investment schemes and partnership structures.
  • Support, where required, the Singapore affiliate on any legal matters connected to distribution and fundraising activities in its core target market.
  • Provide legal advice on corporate governance and financial market regulatory matters, primarily from a Swiss perspective, working closely with Compliance, Risk Management, the Company Secretary Team and other internal stakeholders.
  • Act as a key contact for external legal counsel, regulatory authorities and relevant industry associations, primarily in Switzerland.
  • Work closely with experienced senior legal professionals across a national and international environment, contributing to complex and high-impact legal matters.

Your skills and experience

  • Swiss Master’s degree in Law and Swiss or EU bar admission required.
  • 7-10 years of relevant in-house experience within an asset manager, investment manager, private equity firm, private markets platform or similar investment organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of Swiss financial market regulation, particularly FINIA, FINSA, CISA, BVV 2 and ASV, with a solid understanding of relevant FINMA requirements.
  • Good knowledge of relevant EU financial market regulations, particularly AIFMD, MiFID II and SFDR.
  • Proven experience in private markets, private equity or asset management, with a strong understanding of fund structures and Swiss and cross-border regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with Luxembourg fund structures and/or Luxembourg fund law is highly desirable.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, combined with a practical and solution-oriented approach to legal matters.
  • Client-focused, precise and structured working style, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with senior stakeholders across different functions and jurisdictions.
  • German mother tongue, fluent in English. French is a plus.
