About the role
The Assistant Director of Technology and Innovation supports the Director of Technology and Innovation with leading the IT operation of the Resort. The role is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of all computer systems and data communications activities in the hotel.
What you will do:
1. Ensure critical systems, specifically Front Office Property Management System, Call Accounting and Food & Beverage point of sale computer systems, are available twenty-four (24) hour per day.
2. Ensure effective support for other systems, including back office, sales & catering and human resources applications.
3. In conjunction with the above tasks, act as the hotel’s liaison with both hardware and software suppliers to ensure that the terms of maintenance agreements are followed by all concerned.
4. Establish and maintain user procedures and hardware familiarization for all systems.
5. In conjunction with Hotel Systems Manager and Corporate MIS, coordinate any new system implementation, update or upgrade with hotel staff and hardware or software suppliers.
6. Assist individual departments in setting up computer training for their individual departmental needs.
7. Assist Hotel Systems Manager in ensuring system security procedures are carried out and are consistent with control requirements and corporate policy.
8. Maintain accurate records of system files; software and hardware problems and service requirements.
9. Develop and maintain, in cooperation with the Purchasing Department, a supplier and product list for all stock data processing supplies.
10. Establish and maintain backup procedures for all systems to ensure protection from loss of data and ensure backups are carried out in accordance with corporate and local policies.
11. Assist Hotel Systems Manager with maintaining hotel electronic communications, specifically electronic mail and internet access and ensuring they comply with corporate policy and are available to hotel management as required.
12. Conduct self in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Four Seasons Hotels.
13. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Hotel Systems Manager or Director of Finance.
What you bring
- 3-5 Years previous IT experience, preferably in a supervisory manner at a luxury resort or hotel
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.
- Must have knowledge of cabling; computer networking equipment and operating systems, specifically Windows; personal computer and server hardware; data communications equipment and protocols; and office administration applications.
- Knowledge of Opera PMS, Micros Simphony POS is desirable.
- Understanding of IT security best practices, cybersecurity principles, and PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) requirements, with the ability to support and maintain systems in a PCI-compliant environment.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to relate to all levels of management. Must be able to assist hotel guests with technical requirements and problems.
- Must be capable of training users with varying degrees of computer knowledge.
- Must have a commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures as they relate to Computer Systems and Telecommunications.
- Must work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.

Schedule & Hours:
Successful candidate will be hired as a full-time employee. Successful candidate is expected to work early mornings, days, evenings, holidays, and/or weekends. Flexibility is required.
