As our next Manufacturing Technician – Finishing, you’ll be at the forefront of optimizing finishing and machining processes to improve throughput, equipment reliability, product quality, and operational efficiency. Your expertise in CNC programming, automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, tooling, and process troubleshooting will be crucial in reducing downtime and supporting continuous improvement across our operations.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Improve operational throughput by monitoring and optimizing manufacturing processes
• Document changes to machine setpoints, programs, and operating parameters
• Reduce downtime by executing preventive maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance activities
• Identify nonstandard operating conditions and recommend resolution options to Production Supervisors and Team Leaders
• Optimize the use of tooling, labor, materials, and energy to reduce operating expenses
• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot fixtures and tooling for CNC lathes, vertical machining centers, and grinding machines
• Support special-purpose equipment, including induction heat-treatment cells, CNC grinders, deburring machines, washers, and automated nondestructive testing cells
• Troubleshoot industrial automation and robotic systems, including Fanuc, Motoman, and KUKA equipment
• Program, operate, and troubleshoot Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma CNC control systems
• Support machining equipment such as Shimada and EMAG lathes and SW machining centers
• Provide technical troubleshooting and repair support to minimize equipment downtime
• Improve machine maintainability, reliability, and overall operational performance
• Ensure operational quality and efficiency targets are consistently achieved
• Verify that appropriate safety controls and requirements are implemented on each machine
• Review blueprints, GD&T requirements, measurement results, and CMM reports to ensure product conformity
• Apply structured problem-solving techniques, including the 5 Whys, to identify and resolve equipment and process issues
• Train and provide technical guidance to other team members
• Maintain accurate equipment documentation and record retention
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and all applicable Quality, Safety, and Environmental requirements
• Perform other related duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

• Diploma as a Mechanical Engineering Technician, Manufacturing Engineering Technician, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Postsecondary certificate in CNC Programming or equivalent practical experience preferred
• Five to seven years of experience in a high-speed automotive manufacturing environment preferred
• Advanced experience programming and operating CNC machines using Fanuc, Okuma, and Siemens control systems
• Familiarity with Fanuc, Motoman, and KUKA robotics, including programming and troubleshooting
• Strong experience with CNC lathes, vertical machining centers, grinding machines, and automated production equipment
• Excellent blueprint-reading skills, including a strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Ability to use precision measurement equipment, inspect parts against engineering drawings, and interpret CMM reports
• Understanding of automotive quality systems and IATF 16949 requirements
• Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills at all organizational levels
• High integrity, dependability, urgency, and results orientation
• Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment with limited climate control

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Advanced CNC programming expertise across multiple machine platforms
• Experience with induction heat treatment, CNC grinding, deburring, washing, or automated nondestructive testing systems
• Experience improving machine reliability and maintainability
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance methodologies
• Experience leading technical training or supporting the development of production team members
• Proven success implementing continuous improvement projects in automotive manufacturing
