Senior Finance Director

The Senior Finance Director will be a key architect in the implementation of Haymarket’s organizational strategy and will play an integral role in scaling up our long-standing and impressive history of service to the community. The Senior Finance Director will supervise a small team of finance staff and will proactively identify opportunities and challenges as well as implement creative solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Financial Management – Partner with the CFO to drive financial operations, including developing and implementing finance and operations goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Financial Reporting – Contribute to monthly and annual financial report preparation and analysis including development and tracking of key performance indicators. Review budget-to-actual reports to gain an understanding of major variances. Prepare and present materials for weekly meeting with agency administration and quarterly board committee meetings as required.
• Financial Analysis – Analyze and monitor financial conditions of the agency. Contribute to and provide financial analyses and forecasts.
• Grants Management – Partner with clinical programs and funders for the successful implementation of grant-funded programs. Prepare and submit budgets and contracts and ensure the timely and accurate submission of invoices and reports. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of contract requirements and ensure compliance with them. Monitor programmatic implementation and the utilization of funds.
• Strategic Planning – Contribute to the agency's overall strategic vision. Recommend and implement processes and systems to enhance organizational operations and competitiveness with a particular focus on revenue generation efforts. Establish and implement short- and long- range financial goals and objectives.
• Budgeting – Assist with the development and implementation of the annual budget. Monitor progress and present operational metrics as required.
• Audit and Monitoring –Help prepare for and coordination grant-specific and annual agency audit. Serve as financial liaison for all grant-specific site visits.
• Staff Management – Oversee day-to-day billing and accounts receivable operations. Develop, coach, evaluate, and initiate corrective action for direct reports as appropriate. Coordinate training and support efforts to ensure team members can utilize relevant systems.
• Coordination – Act as the liaison to clinical programs and agency overall for issues or questions related to the agency's financial operations. Represent the agency at external meetings. Resolve challenges with team as they arise.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Specifically, have a willingness to assume additional managerial responsibilities as agency expands.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree or other advanced credential preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in roles that demonstrate progressive nonprofit or healthcare experience.
• Understanding of nonprofit financial management and budgeting process.
• Experience in using electronic health record and billing systems.
• Advanced experience in Microsoft Office products with a strong emphasis in Excel.
