We are seeking a talented individual to join our Global Continuous Improvement team at Marsh. This role will be based in Urbandale and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of six days per month in the office.
As a Global Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will lead high-impact transformation initiatives that drive efficiency, scalability, and innovation across our Accounting Operations organization. Operating with significant autonomy, you'll partner with senior leaders to identify opportunities, solve complex business challenges, and implement solutions that improve processes, systems, and ways of working.
Our Global Continuous Improvement team brings together expertise in program management, change management, business process optimization, Agile methodologies, and systems assessment. Together, we deliver cross-functional programs and strategic change initiatives that enhance operational excellence, increase agility, and support sustainable growth across the organization. We will count on you to:
- Partner with senior leadership to define and execute transformation and continuous improvement strategies that align with business goals, organizational culture, and operational priorities
- Design, deploy, and scale Lean methodologies across business units, ensuring consistent adoption of best practices while coaching teams on continuous improvement principles
- Lead enterprise-wide improvement initiatives, driving measurable business outcomes through effective change management, stakeholder engagement, and project execution
- Champion the vision, architecture, and optimization of enterprise accounting applications, serving as a strategic advisor and thought leader across platform engineering, UX, product management, and senior leadership
- Collaborate with Business Operations and Information Systems teams to shape product roadmaps, inform architecture decisions, and optimize resource planning and delivery
- Stay current on emerging trends in in billing and payment domains and incorporate insights into innovative solutions and strategic recommendations
- Conduct complex business and systems analyses to identify opportunities, design scalable solutions, and improve billing and payment processes and software applications
- Partner with enterprise architecture and development teams to evaluate new technologies, assure strategy alignment, establish best practices, and drive adoption of standardized tools and solutions
- Mentor and develop colleagues on continuous improvement methodologies and best practices, fostering a culture of operational excellence, innovation, and continuous learning
- Promote a safe, compliant, and collaborative work environment, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards across all initiatives
What you need to have:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Finance or Accounting
- 5+ years related experience and/or training
- 2+ years leading large-scale finance process improvement and automation initiatives
- Advanced expertise in applying process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Root Cause Analysis, with the ability to develop organizational strategies around continuous improvement approaches
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, innovative solutions
- Strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
- Experience across multiple cross-functional Finance process areas
- Experience designing and documenting processes and workflow models across all levels, including processes, sub-processes, activities, tasks, methods, and procedures
- Ability to use data analysis and data mining tools to collect, manipulate, and analyze data and generate insights
- Ability to collaborate with programmers to develop tools for data collection and analysis
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills
What makes you stand out?
- 5+ years of experience in high-growth, industry-leading SaaS or PaaS organizations
- Working knowledge of data analysis, process mining, and visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI and Tableau
- Functional experience with database and spreadsheet tools such as MySQL and Excel
- Six Sigma Green Belt, Business Process Professional (CBPP®), or Certified Business Leader (CBPL™) certification
- Domain expertise with Order to Cash (O2C/OTC)
- Experience leading across multi-location, global operations
