Annual Salary: negotiable and commensurate with experience.

Position Summary

Leads enterprise clinical compliance, survey readiness, and quality monitoring across the seven State Veterans Homes. Establishes consistent tools and follow-up processes, identifies risk trends, and verifies that corrective actions result in sustained practice change. Partners with home leaders while homes retain ownership of local implementation and outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead a consistent survey readiness program, including risk-based site reviews, mock surveys, findings reports, and follow-up validation.

• Maintain a central log of survey findings, complaints, clinical compliance risks, corrective action plans, owners, due dates, evidence, and closure status.

• Partner with home leadership to develop corrective actions with clear measures; verify completion and sustained effectiveness through record review, observation, or repeat audit.

• Interpret applicable VA, Oklahoma, and CMS requirements and translate changes into practical guidance, monitoring tools, policy updates, and staff education with Clinical Education and other central office partners.

• Analyze survey, audit, complaint, and quality data; provide concise trends, priority risks, overdue items, and recommended actions to the Director of Clinical Operations and leadership.

• Support home QAPI work by standardizing measures and helping leaders evaluate whether interventions improve resident outcomes and regulatory performance.

• Performs other related duties as assigned consistent with the responsibilities of the position and agency operations.

 

Measures of Success

• All identified findings and corrective actions are entered in the enterprise tracker with an accountable owner and due date.

• Site reviews and mock surveys are completed to the approved schedule; findings and action requests are communicated within established deadlines.

• Corrective actions are closed only after evidence is reviewed and effectiveness is validated; overdue or ineffective actions are escalated promptly.

• Leadership receives routine, accurate reports showing open risks, aging actions, repeat findings, and trends by home.

• Repeat deficiencies and unresolved high-risk findings decrease over time, with progress reviewed through the enterprise quality cadence.

 

Required Qualifications

Current, unencumbered RN license eligible for practice in Oklahoma. Must have at least two years of RN experience, including at least one year in a supervisory or nursing leadership role. BSN preferred but not required. The target candidate will be MSN-prepared or hold a nationally recognized nursing certification or credential. Must be proficient in written and spoken English and demonstrate strong organizational, time-management, and written and verbal communication skills. Long-term care, regulatory compliance, survey readiness, or quality improvement experience is preferred. Must be able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, analyze data, communicate clear findings, coach leaders, and travel to ODVA Veterans Homes.
