Job Description

As a Security Officer X Ray Detector in West Palm Beach, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener supporting a government location, you will operate screening equipment, monitor access points, and help identify prohibited items or potential security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and staff, and support a welcoming, orderly environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific screening procedures and security-related policies at a government facility.
• Screen individuals and their belongings using assigned screening equipment and established procedures, identifying prohibited or unauthorized items for appropriate follow-up.
• Verify identification, credentials, and access authorization before permitting entry to restricted areas, following applicable post orders and escalation protocols.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entry points, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and report unusual conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or 5 years ofsecurity-related experience or a college degree in criminal justice.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Guard card is required. 
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 21+ years of age for role.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
