Description
Director, Derivatives Operations – Competitive Package – United States
Plexus is partnering with a regulated US financial services firm to hire a Director to lead its derivatives operations team.
Role Overview
This is a leadership role with real hands-on depth. You’ll run the operations team day to day and play a central part in significant clearing and connectivity infrastructure work, working closely with engineering, risk and compliance to define what gets built and why.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and grow the derivatives operations team
- Play a central role in clearing infrastructure projects, from requirements and design through testing and go-live
- Own order routing, clearing relationships and exchange connectivity
- Act as the senior escalation point for trading, execution and processing issues
- Oversee daily trade flow, back office processing, margin and risk controls
- Partner with compliance, risk, finance and engineering on new products and process improvements
What They’re Looking For
- 8+ yrs in futures, ideally 10+, at an FCM, broker dealer or similar
- Deep knowledge of the full futures trade lifecycle: order routing, clearing, margin and back office
- Hands on involvement in clearing infrastructure work such as a clearing migration, clearing integration or exchange connectivity project
- Operational background rather than purely front office or sales
- Experience in a smaller or scaling firm where you built rather than inherited
Nice to Haves
- Active Series 3
- Experience launching a new derivatives product
- Familiarity with futures back office platforms such as GMI
- Risk background, including client account and margin risk
Compensation and Setup
- Competitive base plus discretionary bonus
- Onsite, United States
- Relocation assistance available
