Develops and adjusts daily and weekly production plans for assigned operations based on customer priorities, market rate of demand, staffing, materials, inventory requirements, and equipment capacity. Coordinates execution across shifts and support functions, resolves routine scheduling and operating constraints within delegated authority, and escalates decisions affecting customer commitments, overtime, staffing levels, or capacity. Provides leadership to hourly production employees and supports the development of less-experienced supervisors while ensuring safe, efficient production that meets quality, delivery, and cost expectations.

Establish production sequence and output targets, coordinate requirements across shifts and support functions, and adjust plans within approved priorities and staffing limits. Resolve routine production and scheduling conflicts independently. Escalate changes affecting customer commitments, overtime authorization, staffing levels, or significant capacity constraints to the Plant Manager with a recommended course of action.

Monitor and analyze production performance using Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) metrics. Identify trends and performance gaps, determine appropriate countermeasures, assign follow-up actions, and lead corrective action and continuous improvement efforts. Verify that actions are completed and produce the intended result.

Provide cross-shift coordination by communicating production status, schedule changes, downtime, quality concerns, staffing issues, material constraints, safety concerns, and recovery plans. Partner with engineering, maintenance, quality, materials, and other support functions to resolve issues and maintain continuity of operations.

Provide consistent leadership for hourly employees by setting expectations, coaching performance, recognizing strong results, addressing conduct or performance concerns, and administering corrective action in accordance with company policies and procedures. Complete performance reviews and establish meaningful development goals for direct reports.
