Working closely with market and project leadership teams, you will strengthen client relationships, shape business strategy, identify growth opportunities, and provide technical leadership and assurance for multidisciplinary teams delivering complex civil engineering solutions across the asset lifecycle. You will champion technical quality, innovation, sustainability, safety, constructability, and whole-life value, while developing capability through mentoring and knowledge sharing and enhancing AtkinsRéalis' reputation as a trusted advisor and industry leader within the water sector.

Join us at a pivotal moment for the UK water industry. AMP8 represents a step change in investment, creating opportunities to work on some of the most significant infrastructure programmes in a generation, including strategic reservoir developments, water resource schemes, treatment works upgrades, and major resilience projects that will help secure water supplies for decades to come.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a technically accomplished civil engineering leader with extensive experience in the water sector and a strong track record of developing client relationships, winning work, and growing business across both regulated and non-regulated programmes. You will be looking to expand your influence within a leadership position that combines technical excellence, client engagement, business growth, and team development.

You’ll benefit from:

  • Playing a pivotal role in delivering safe, sustainable, and resilient water infrastructure that supports communities across the UK for generations.
  • Working with an industry-leading water engineering team within a collaborative and highly respected global organisation.
  • Expanding your influence through a role that combines technical leadership, client engagement, business growth, and team development.
  • Shaping the strategic direction of a growing water business and influencing the future development of our civil water engineering capability.
  • Building trusted relationships with some of the industry's most influential clients and decision-makers.
  • Accessing clear pathways for continued career growth, including progression into senior market, director, and business leadership roles.

Being a Technical Director with us involves UK wide travel. We offer hybrid working which involves 3 days per week travel/office based. This position can be based at any of our hub offices of Epsom, London, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, or Glasgow.  It can also be based from one of our regional offices of Peterborough, Cambridge, Cardiff, Swansea, Derby, Exeter, Leeds, Newcastle, Belfast, or Edinburgh, but may require additional travel to main locations as needed.
