About the Role
We are recruiting a Casemaker/Packer to join an established industrial packaging and custom export casemaking team in Newmarket.
This is a temporary to permanent position, offering the opportunity to transition into a permanent contract following a successful trial period. In this role, you will help manufacture wooden cases, crates, and specialized export packaging designed to protect high-value equipment during transit. Full training is provided, making this a great opportunity for anyone looking to build practical workshop skills.
Salary and Shifts
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30
Location: Newmarket
What You’ll Do

Build custom timber cases, crates, and pallets using hand tools and power tools

Measure materials accurately and cut wood to specification

Work alongside the workshop team to hit daily packing and assembly targets

Keep your workspace clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety standards
What We’re Looking For

Punctual, dependable, and keen to learn new practical skills

Must have your own tape measure, hammer, and safety boots with puncture-resistant midsole protection (P distinction)
Nice to Have

Experience using a pneumatic nail gun

Any background in carpentry, joinery, or basic woodworking (welcomed, but not essential)

A valid driving licence
Who Might Suit This Role
If you have experience as a bench joiner, timber assembler, or workshop assistant, your skills will transfer well to this role.
We also welcome applications from people with backgrounds in general construction or manufacturing assembly who enjoy practical, active work and want to learn timber casemaking.
