Director of Girl Experience, Volunteer Engagement and Property

Picture a home that comes with more than 200 acres of camp, and a job where the work you do all week turns into a troop's best weekend of the year. While Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore (GSMISTS) does not run a summer resident camp program, Camp Anna Behrens (CAB) welcomed over 2,300 guests this past year through Girl Scout troop and service unit events/camping, GSMISTS programming, and community events. We are looking for a Site Coordinator who'll keep it all running. You'll lead the daily operations, maintenance, safety, and security of CAB. It's a position of high trust, and you'll have the independence that comes with it.

What you'll do

· Keep CAB's buildings, grounds, and equipment safe, clean, and ready for guests, following regular maintenance schedules

· Make sure buildings and grounds meet or exceed state, health department, GSMISTS, and GSUSA requirements

· Partner with members of the GSMISTS team to ensure site is safe and ready for activity

· Welcome Girl Scout volunteers, girls, parents, and visitors with warm, responsive service

· Prepare site for and hosts outside user group activities

· Get bids and purchase materials and supplies for maintenance and improvement projects

· Help shape short- and long-term operational plans, capital improvements, and budgets

· Protect the site year-round, from security procedures for property and visitors to plowing after a Michigan snowstorm

· Register as a member of Girl Scouts of the USA

What you'll bring

· A high school diploma

· At least three years of facility-related experience, including hands on maintenance and the ability to assess and fix grounds, facility, and equipment needs

· Strong planning and organizing skills to manage many projects at once and meet deadlines

· A customer service mindset and the confidence to work independently

· Familiarity with power equipment such as tractors, mowers, plows, and chainsaws, and the ability to use them safely

· A valid driver's license, your own transportation, and willingness to travel as the job requires

Physical requirements

You'll need to perform physical labor on a daily basis, lift   20 pounds or more consistently, climb ladders, and work at heights above 6 feet. This position requires living on site in council owned housing at CAB.

What we offer

· Salary of $46,000 to $50,000

· Private on-site housing with utilities   included

· Flexible schedule, work a weekend, get time   off during the week

· Retirement contribution

· Health, dental, and vision coverage

· Paid vacation

Every repair, every cleared trail after a storm, and   every warm welcome at check in helps a Girl Scout discover what she's capable of outdoors. If you're ready for work that matters this much, we'd love to meet you.
