Description
As a Digital Reporting Controller, you will support compliant and efficient digital reporting across Sony Europe’s branches, ensuring timely and accurate Digital Reporting in line with evolving European regulatory requirements. Working closely with internal partners, external service providers and tax authorities, you will help drive digital reporting initiatives, support country implementations, improve processes and contribute to the standardisation and automation of Digital Reporting activities across the region.
This role is being offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis to support maternity leave cover. Candidates must have the legal right to work in the country. While the role is primarily based in Budapest, we are also open to candidates based in Hoofddorp (Netherlands) or Athens (Greece).
You will:
- Handle and support digital reporting, e-invoicing and e-reporting activities and implementation across multiple European countries.
- Monitor regulatory developments and reporting requirements to ensure ongoing compliance with local and EU legislation.
- Support new-country implementations, including requirements analysis, data mapping, testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Validate, reconcile and analyse reporting data, ensuring accuracy and completeness of submissions.
- Coordinate with Finance, Tax, IS teams and external service providers to deliver compliant and efficient reporting processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate submissions to tax authorities and support compliance with statutory and internal governance requirements.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies, process issues and reporting exceptions.
- Contribute to process improvement, automation and standardisation initiatives to enhance efficiency and data quality.
- Maintain reporting documentation, controls and training materials, supporting audit and compliance activities when required.
- Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to support successful digital reporting operations across the region.
You will bring:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in transactional finance, accounting, VAT, indirect tax or a related finance function.
- Strong experience with reconciliations, data validation and financial reporting processes.
- Advanced Excel skills, including working with large datasets, pivot tables and reporting analysis.
- Practical SAP experience and understanding of finance data structures, tax codes and data mapping.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across different countries and functions.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in a multinational or international business environment is preferred.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with digital reporting, e-invoicing, e-reporting, SAF-T, VAT or tax technology solutions.
- Knowledge of Power BI, Excel macros, RPA or automation tools.
- Experience supporting system implementations, testing and process improvement initiatives.
- Understanding of Peppol, XML reporting schemas or related digital reporting frameworks.
