The role
Please note, we are only accepting applicants from the provinces of Ontario and Québec for this role. For Québec-based candidates, fluency in English is necessary because the position entails collaboration with teams based in the rest of Americas and occasionally in Europe.
As a Senior Digital Marketing Specialist, you are passionate about experience innovation and eager to push the boundaries of what’s possible. You bring 6-8+ years of experience leading email marketing, lifecycle marketing, CRM strategy, marketing operations, and digital marketing initiatives, preferably within a B2B or agency environment. Coupled with a growth mindset and a drive to make a lasting impact, you thrive on creating meaningful customer experiences and delivering measurable business results.
This role reports directly to the VP of Media and works in close partnership with the Senior Performance Media Manager, Marketing Operations Team, Strategy Leads, Data & Analytics Teams, Creative & Content Teams, and key Client Stakeholders. Success in this position requires strong cross-functional collaboration to align media strategies, optimize campaign performance, leverage data-driven insights, and deliver impactful results for clients.

Role responsibilities
Email Lifecycle Strategy & Planning
- Own the end-to-end email and CRM strategy for B2B clients, including lifecycle mapping, segmentation strategy, lead nurture programs, and customer journey design.
- Translate business objectives into full-funnel lifecycle marketing strategies supporting demand generation, pipeline acceleration, retention, and account growth.
- Develop audience-led marketing journeys using first-party data, behavioral and firmographic segmentation, lead scoring, and AI-supported personalization.
- Build lifecycle roadmaps and strategic recommendations supported by performance insights and business goals.
- Partner with performance media teams to align email and CRM touchpoints with paid media, social, content, and integrated marketing campaigns.
- Present lifecycle strategies, recommendations, and performance reviews to internal and client stakeholders.
CRM & Marketing Automation
- Own CRM and marketing automation strategy, governance, platform administration, and best practices across client accounts.
- Manage platforms such as HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Pardot, Eloqua, or similar tools.
- Build and optimize automated nurture programs, triggered campaigns, behavioral workflows, and customer journeys.
- Oversee segmentation frameworks, lead scoring models, data enrichment processes, and audience targeting strategies.
- Partner with marketing operations and data teams to ensure effective integration between CRM platforms, sales systems, and reporting tools.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI-enabled capabilities for personalization, predictive segmentation, automation, and campaign optimization.
- Maintain data quality, governance standards, platform hygiene, and compliance requirements.
Marketing Operations & Content Platform Management
- Administer and optimize content marketing and workflow management platforms such as Optimizely, Monday.com, Workfront, or similar systems.
- Configure and maintain workflows, templates, automations, and user permissions.
- Partner with content, creative, digital, and marketing teams to streamline content planning, production, review, approval, and publishing processes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for platform support, troubleshooting, user enablement, and training.
- Manage integrations between content platforms, DAM systems, CMS platforms, analytics tools, and marketing technology solutions.
- Monitor platform adoption and usage, identifying opportunities for process efficiencies and system improvements.
- Ensure content workflows comply with brand standards, governance requirements, and Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) processes where applicable.
- Create and maintain documentation, best practices, operational playbooks, and onboarding materials for platform users.
Campaign Execution & Optimization
- Lead end-to-end email campaign execution, including strategic briefing, segmentation, creative direction, build, QA, deployment, and performance analysis.
- Collaborate with creative, content, design, and copywriting teams to develop compelling customer experiences and on-brand messaging.
- Partner with email development teams to manage template creation, dynamic content implementation, testing, rendering, and deployment quality assurance.
- Execute A/B and multivariate testing programs across subject lines, messaging, journey paths, audience segments, and send-time optimization.
- Monitor deliverability, sender reputation, list hygiene, compliance, and campaign health.
- Apply automation and AI-powered capabilities to improve performance, efficiency, engagement, and personalization.
Measurement, Analytics & Optimization
- Own reporting and performance analysis across email, CRM, lifecycle marketing, and content operations initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate key performance metrics including engagement, conversions, pipeline influence, retention, revenue impact, and campaign effectiveness.
- Partner with analytics and data teams to ensure accurate tracking, attribution, measurement frameworks, and dashboard reporting.
- Translate performance data into actionable recommendations and strategic business insights.
- Communicate results clearly to clients and internal stakeholders, connecting channel performance to broader business outcomes.
- Utilize AI-supported analytics and modeling tools to identify engagement patterns, audience opportunities, and optimization strategies.
Client Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the senior email, CRM, and marketing operations point of contact for clients.
- Deliver strategic guidance, operational recommendations, campaign planning, and performance insights.
- Create high-quality client deliverables including lifecycle strategies, campaign calendars, workflow documentation, operational processes, and performance reports.
- Collaborate closely with media, strategy, content, experience, creative, and analytics teams to develop integrated marketing solutions.
- Advocate for best practices across lifecycle marketing, CRM, content operations, automation, and AI adoption.
- Present strategies, roadmaps, findings, and recommendations confidently to client stakeholders and internal leadership.
Must have qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- 6-8+ years of experience in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, CRM strategy, marketing operations, or digital marketing, preferably in a B2B environment or agency setting.
- Strong hands-on expertise with major CRM and marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Pardot, Eloqua, or similar.
- Experience developing and managing lifecycle marketing programs, customer journeys, segmentation frameworks, and lead nurture initiatives.
- Experience administering content marketing, workflow management, or project management platforms such as Optimizely, Monday.com, Workfront, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of marketing operations, content production workflows, stakeholder management, and process optimization.
- Experience integrating CRM, marketing automation, DAM, CMS, analytics, and sales systems.
- Working knowledge of email deliverability, compliance requirements, and customer data management best practices.
- Experience partnering with analytics and data teams on reporting, attribution, and performance measurement.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a highly collaborative team culture.

The benefits
This is a full-time position based in Toronto/Montreal. The offered salary range is 85,000 CAD - 114,000 CAD annually, depending on experience and location.
Valtech offers a comprehensive benefits package effective after three months of continuous service:
