RETTEW is seeking an experienced Senior Designer to join our Land Development team and support civil design projects with a particular focus on oil and gas, pipeline, and related infrastructure work.
This role is a strong fit for an experienced Civil 3D designer who enjoys taking ownership of detailed design work, developing plan and profile drawings, solving design challenges, and working collaboratively with engineers and project teams.
You'll work primarily in Civil 3D and contribute to projects from design development through final deliverables. The position offers the opportunity to apply your technical experience while also serving as a resource to developing designers and CADD professionals.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Designer, you will:
- Develop complex civil design drawings and technical deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Prepare and modify plan and profile drawings for utility, pipeline, land development, and related civil infrastructure projects.
- Complete detailed design assignments with limited supervision.
- Support site, grading, utility, pipeline, pad, and related civil design work as applicable to assigned projects.
- Coordinate design activities with engineers, Project Managers, surveyors, designers, and other project-team members.
- Interpret survey information, engineering direction, project requirements, and existing conditions to develop accurate design documents.
- Assist with coordination and prioritization of CADD and design assignments.
- Perform QA/QC reviews and help ensure drawings comply with project and RETTEW standards.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation.
- Serve as a technical resource to other CADD operators and designers.
- Coach or mentor less-experienced design staff as appropriate.
- Support multiple projects and priorities while meeting established schedules and quality expectations.
What We're Looking For
Required
- Graduate of a two-year technical school, associate degree in a related field, or equivalent relevant design experience.
- Approximately 10 or more years of relevant civil/CADD design experience.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience developing profiles for pipelines, utilities, or other linear infrastructure.
- Experience supporting oil and gas or utility projects.
- Demonstrated experience developing plan and profile drawings.
- Ability to independently complete detailed civil design assignments with limited supervision.
- Strong understanding of CADD standards, drawing production, and design-document quality.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication and ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Ability to provide technical guidance or mentoring to less-experienced designers.
Preferred
- Pipeline design experience.
- Well-pad or facility/site design experience.
- Experience supporting projects involving grading, utilities, corridors, or related civil-site infrastructure.

- Work on technically challenging civil and infrastructure projects.
- Apply advanced Civil 3D skills across a variety of project types.
- Collaborate directly with engineers, Project Managers, surveyors, and other technical professionals.
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor to developing designers.
- Expand your experience across land development, utility, pipeline, and related infrastructure work.
- Build ownership in RETTEW through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
