Description
This is a temporary position until May 30, 2027.
Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Ability to read scenic drafting/drawing to construct scenery for theatre productions.
- Operate a variety of power tools including, but not limited to: table saw, band saw, mitre saw, drill press, sander, etc.
- Operate a variety of hand tools including, but not limited to: drills, hammers, mallets, screw drivers, etc.
- Organize the process of constructing the scenic elements and installing them.
- Ability to execute theatrical scenic painting techniques including, but not limited to: wood graining, multi-color speckling, stonework, and other faux treatments.
- Instruct students who will be assisting in the construction and/or scenic painting of the set pieces.
- Work during strike of the show to disassemble the set.
- Interface with other technical departments to plan productions and install on a coordinated timeline and budget.
- Collaborate with other production members to achieve the desired aesthetic and safe functioning of the set.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requisite Qualifications
- Typically a High School diploma. Bachelor degree in Theatre.
- Minimum three years of professional experience in scenic construction, painting, and planning
- Advanced skills in carpentry, using various tools, and excellent organizational skills.

Salary range
$26.54 - $33.12 Salary commensurate with education and experience.Please note that this position may not be eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
