As a Payroll Accounting Associate you will support payroll accounting activities within our People Operations function, helping manage employee lifecycle transactions, payroll and benefits administration, record keeping, and inquiry resolution. As an Associate you will focus on learning and contributing through project tasks, adapting to changing priorities, asking questions, and developing the skills needed to deliver dependable work while building your personal brand. In this role at PwC Acceleration Center India, you will support the payroll accounting process, work through operational inquiries in line with HR protocols, and contribute to a team that helps keep HR processes and systems moving smoothly across a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Processing payroll accounting transactions and reconciling employee pay records across pay cycles
- Reviewing payroll data for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with labor laws, policies, and internal controls
- Maintaining employee master data, payroll documentation, and transaction records in HR systems
- Responding to payroll and employee inquiries, researching issues, and routing exceptions through defined HR procedures
- Supporting payroll adjustments, terminations, retroactive changes, and absence-related updates
- Monitoring data quality, identifying discrepancies, and escalating unresolved items for review
- Preparing routine payroll reports, variance summaries, and account support documentation
- Applying HR software, documentation administration, and process improvement skills to support service delivery
What You Must Have
- At least a Bachelor's degree
- At least 1 years of experience
- Oral and written proficiency in English required
What Sets You Apart
- Preference for at least one of the following fields of study: Measurement, Data Science, Industrial-Organizational (I/O) Psychology, or a related field
- Demonstrating payroll accounting coursework or internship exposure
- Applying data analysis skills to payroll or employee records
- Using HR software and digital tooling for routine tasks
- Gathering information from multiple sources and checking patterns
