Job Title: Cost Estimator
Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Cost Estimator to join our team. This role is critical to the planning and execution of our projects, as you will provide accurate cost assessments and help formulate budgets based on structural, civil, and field engineering requirements. Responsibilities
- Review project blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for structural and civil engineering tasks.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to assess scope, define materials, analyze labor needs, and determine costs.
- Develop bid proposals and budgets for projects within assigned deadlines.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids, ensuring compliance with project requirements and company standards.
- Utilize advanced tools and software to create data-driven cost estimations and forecasts.
- Monitor site activities and changes to ensure alignment with the original budget; assess and document financial implications of project variations.
- Prepare reports detailing cost analysis, risk factors, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile project costs on an ongoing basis.
- Support the project from initiation to completion, proactively addressing and solving cost-related challenges.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in cost estimation, specifically within structural and civil engineering domains.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Prior experience in field engineering or site management, with a solid understanding of job site workflows.
- Advanced knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, and accounting principles in construction and engineering projects.
- Fluency in cost estimation software and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze structural and civil engineering blueprints and specifications.
Preferred Skills
- Professional certifications such as Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCE/A) are highly valued.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage vendor/subcontractor relationships effectively.

- Collaborate with the finance team to monitor and reconcile project expenses while maintaining compliance with budget constraints.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to identify innovative ways to manage costs effectively without compromising on quality or timelines.
