Make an impact with NTT DATA
Join a company that is pushing the boundaries of what is possible. We are renowned for our technical excellence and leading innovations, and for making a difference to our clients and society. Our workplace embraces diversity and inclusion – it’s a place where you can grow, belong and thrive.
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly driven and consultative Enterprise Application Pre-sales Specialist to support the growth of our Enterprise Application Solutions practice in Malaysia.
The ideal candidate will bridge business requirements, enterprise application capabilities, and delivery expertise to shape transformative solutions for large enterprises. The role will focus on enterprise-grade workflow and business applications across domains such as IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), and Workflow Automation.
Candidates are not expected to have experience across all of the above domains. Strong pre-sales and solution consulting experience in one or more of these domains is sufficient to qualify for the role. Depth of expertise in a relevant enterprise application domain is more important than broad coverage across every area listed.
Candidates should possess strong pre-sales and solution consulting experience in at least one leading enterprise application platform such as ServiceNow, Salesforce, SAP, or comparable enterprise platforms.
This role is expected to take an end-to-end solutioning perspective - from Day 1 implementation and transformation through Day 2 application managed services and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with sales, delivery, managed services, technology partners, and clients to develop commercially compelling and operationally sustainable enterprise application solutions.
The role is pivotal in supporting business development, influencing C-level and senior business stakeholders, and securing large-scale enterprise application transformation and managed services opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Consultative Client Engagement
• Lead strategic conversations with enterprise clients to understand business challenges, operational pain points, application landscapes, risk and compliance requirements, and transformation objectives.
• Conduct discovery workshops, application maturity assessments, solution workshops, and executive briefings tailored to the client's industry and business context.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, standardize, and optimize enterprise workflows and business processes.
• Translate complex enterprise application capabilities into clear business outcomes such as improved productivity, better customer experience, reduced operating cost, increased automation, improved governance, stronger risk management, and faster time-to-market.
• Engage effectively with CIOs, CTOs, COOs, CROs, business executives, application owners, IT operations teams, risk and compliance teams, and procurement stakeholders.
• Develop transformation roadmaps that align technology investments with the client's strategic, operational, risk, and compliance objectives.
Enterprise Application Solutioning
• Lead pre-sales solution design for enterprise-grade applications across areas including:
IT Service Management (ITSM)
• IT Asset Management (ITAM)
• IT Operations Management (ITOM)
• Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
• Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
• Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)
• Enterprise Workflow Automation
• Employee and Customer Service Management
• Application Modernization and Integration
• Translate client requirements into conceptual, functional, and solution-level architectures.
• Develop end-to-end solution propositions leveraging platforms such as ServiceNow, Salesforce, SAP, or comparable enterprise application technologies.
• Assess existing application landscapes and recommend modernization, consolidation, integration, automation, or replacement strategies.
• Design solutions that consider application architecture, integration, data migration, security, workflow design, reporting, user experience, risk controls, compliance requirements, and operational support.
• Support solutioning of enterprise risk capabilities including risk identification, assessment, control management, compliance monitoring, policy management, audit management, issue management, third-party risk, and operational resilience where relevant.
• Recommend suitable product capabilities, implementation approaches, integrations, accelerators, and delivery models aligned with client objectives and delivery capabilities.
• Collaborate with solution architects, product specialists, technical consultants, delivery leads, risk and compliance subject matter experts, and managed services teams to validate solution feasibility and delivery approach.
Day 1 Implementation Solutioning
• Develop implementation strategies covering solution design, configuration, customization, integration, data migration, testing, deployment, training, organizational change management, and transition to production.
• Define project scope, assumptions, dependencies, delivery phases, implementation timelines, resource requirements, and indicative effort estimates.
• Develop fit-for-purpose implementation methodologies including Agile, hybrid, phased rollout, MVP, or enterprise-wide deployment approaches.
• Identify implementation risks and propose practical mitigation strategies.
• Ensure proposed solutions are scalable, secure, supportable, and aligned with enterprise architecture, governance, risk, and compliance standards.
• Work closely with project delivery teams to ensure pre-sales commitments are achievable and can be successfully transitioned into delivery.
Day 2 Managed Services Solutioning
• Design Day 2 Application Managed Services (AMS) propositions that support the client's application environment after implementation and go-live.
• Develop managed services operating models covering application support, incident and problem management, service requests, enhancements, release management, platform administration, monitoring, controls, governance, and continuous improvement.
Define appropriate L1/L2/L3 support structures, service governance, escalation models, service-level agreements, KPIs, and operational responsibilities.
• Develop capacity and resource models to support large-scale enterprise application environments.
• Identify opportunities for automation, AI-enabled operations, self-service, proactive monitoring, risk monitoring, and productivity improvement within managed services.
• Develop transition and knowledge-transfer approaches from implementation teams or incumbent service providers into steady-state managed services.
• Support the development of multi-year managed services proposals including service scope, delivery model, resource estimates, service levels, commercials, and transformation roadmaps.
• Collaborate with Application Managed Services teams to ensure solutions are operationally sustainable and commercially competitive.
Proposal, RFP and Deal Support
• Lead or contribute to RFP/RFI responses for enterprise application implementation, transformation, risk management, GRC, and managed services opportunities.
• Prepare compelling solution proposals, executive presentations, solution diagrams, implementation roadmaps, demos, Proof-of-Concepts, and commercial solution inputs.
• Develop solution narratives that clearly articulate client challenges, proposed solutions, differentiators, business benefits, implementation approaches, governance considerations, risk controls, and managed services models.
• Support deal qualification, solution shaping, estimation, pricing, proposal defense, and contract clarification activities.
• Participate in client presentations, solution workshops, demonstrations, and competitive bid defenses.
• Work with sales and delivery leadership to balance client requirements, solution differentiation, commercial competitiveness, and delivery risk.
• Ensure clear transition of solution scope, assumptions, commitments, risks, and dependencies from pre-sales into project delivery.
Technology Partner & Market Engagement
• Develop strong relationships with key enterprise application technology partners such as ServiceNow, Salesforce, SAP, and relevant ecosystem partners.
• Collaborate with product principals and alliance teams on joint go-to-market activities, solution development, pipeline generation, and client opportunities.
• Maintain awareness of enterprise application trends including AI-enabled workflow automation, Agentic AI, low-code/no-code platforms, process automation, composable applications, cloud ERP/CRM, digital employee experience, enterprise risk management, GRC, operational resilience, and application managed services.
• Understand competitive positioning across major enterprise application platforms and system integrators.
• Represent the company at client briefings, partner events, conferences, industry forums, and technology showcases.
• Contribute to the development of repeatable industry solutions, accelerators, reference architectures, and go-to-market offerings.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant enterprise application experience, with at least 3+ years in pre-sales, solution consulting, solution architecture, or application consulting.
