Software Engineer, Mobile SDK

The team + the role

The Mobile SDK team at Pendo develops and maintains the Pendo mobile product — our native SDKs for iOS and Android, along with integrations across React Native, Flutter, MAUI, and CMP. We work deep in OS internals, maintain rigorous automation and release pipelines, and collaborate closely with customers to ensure their success with the product. A single defect in our SDK can affect thousands of host applications, so quality isn't a value we aspire to — it's the baseline we ship against.

Pendo's mobile SDK enables businesses to collect detailed analytics and visual session replays on user behavior within their mobile applications — without extensive coding. That data helps customers understand how users interact with their apps and enables delivery of targeted in-app messages and guides that improve experience and drive adoption. As a Software Engineer on this team, you'll work on a product that is technically demanding, customer-visible, and genuinely consequential. You'll use AI coding tools as a core part of your workflow — and apply the same engineering rigor and review discipline to AI-generated code as you would to anything written by hand.

This role is based in Herzliya, Israel and follows Pendo's in-office model: in-office 3 days per week.

What this looks like day-to-day

• Design, implement, and maintain new SDK features, ensuring seamless integration with the broader Pendo mobile product across iOS and Android.
• Dive deep into OS internals to optimize performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the SDK functions correctly across all supported devices and OS versions.
• Contribute to SDK development across mobile frameworks — Flutter, React Native, MAUI, and CMP — ensuring compatibility and performance in each environment.
• Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) as a core part of your daily workflow; apply strong engineering judgment and review rigor to AI-generated code before it ships, holding it to the same bar as hand-written code.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable code with a strong focus on quality — developing unit tests, implementing automated testing, and participating in code reviews.
• Provide technical support to international customers: troubleshoot issues, guide them through solutions, and lead live conversations with adequate English proficiency.
• Partner closely with product managers, designers, customer-facing teams, and other engineers to align on goals and deliver the best possible mobile experience.

At Pendo, great Mobile SDK engineers don't just implement to spec — they understand the host application context their code runs inside, anticipate failure modes, and hold the quality bar high because they know the downstream consequences when they don't.

You're AI-curious — genuinely.

You're not using AI tools occasionally. You're rewiring how you work around them. You're faster, sharper, and more prolific because of it — and you bring the judgment to know when to rely on AI output and when to verify, correct, or reject it. In SDK work, that distinction matters: AI-generated code that looks right and ships wrong can break thousands of production apps. We want someone who sees AI as a multiplier and applies the same rigor to its output as to their own.

Must-haves

• 3–4+ years of experience in iOS or Android app development and/or mobile SDK development, including 2+ years of hands-on experience with Objective-C or Kotlin.
• Deep understanding of either the iOS or Android platform — performance optimization, memory management, and behavior across OS versions and device types.
• A genuine passion for mobile development and the flexibility to work across different frameworks and environments as the product evolves.
• Strong English verbal communication skills and a customer-centric mindset — you can lead a live troubleshooting conversation with an international customer clearly and confidently.
• Strong collaboration skills: you work well with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams and communicate clearly across disciplines.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience developing and maintaining mobile SDKs specifically — not just mobile apps.
• Hands-on development experience with Flutter, React Native, Xamarin Forms, or MAUI.
• Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications or SDKs.
• Knowledge of mobile security best practices and data protection standards.
• Practical, day-to-day use of AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) in a professional development workflow.
