This position is part of our Air National Guard division and will work at our Greeley location as part of the Air National Guard Civil Engineering branch. This position also provides facitlity maintenance services at Buckley AFB, Peterson AFB and Fort Carson Airburst Range. 

The work unit provides maintenance and repair services for custodial, grounds, structural, electrical, plumbing and HVAC needs at all facilities in support of the 140th Wing mission. While the primary duty location for this position is Greeley Air National Guard Station, the member will be required to report to Buckley Space Force Base one day per week for up to a year in order to indoctrinate the member in Air National Guard/Civil Engineering philosophy and participate in on-the-job training. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or alternate 4/10 working hours are Tuesday through Friday, 6:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:


• Performing custodial duties for the facilities to include cleaning and sanitizing all bathroom fixtures, sweeping and mopping floors. kitchen areas, and drinking fountains to include removing trash, forklifting dumpsters outside gate for weekly pick up;

• Maintains inventory, material requests and restocking supplies;
• Cleans mechanical rooms, work sites, and shop areas upon support trades completion of tasks;
• Performs grounds maintenance including weed/pest control, lawn mowing, perimeter fencing, loading and unloading vehicles and snow and ice removal using plow trucks, heavy equipment and shovels;

• Wash all snow removal equipment after each weather event;
• Performs preventitive maintenance and minor repairs to grounds tools and equipment.;
• Assists grounds crew with sprinkler repairs and watering schedule;
• Performs facility maintenance General Labor I minor maintenance independently and assists all state maintenance technicians as needed;

• Conducts facilities inspections, hazardous-material inventory updates;
• Performs escorting duties for contractors and suppliers on base and inspecting their work;
• Performs administrative tasks such as inspecting facilities, checking and maintaining hazmat and SDS sheets, updating hazardous material inventories, and preparing a variety of documents as required;

• Completes and maintains work order entries, reports, notes and required daily and monthly time reports;
• Performs Kronos responsibilities, including managing and approving bi-weekly pay periods and submitting required leave requests; 
• Recognizes work that is outside the scope of capability of position description and reports to the Supervisor for direction or higher-level trade support;

• Provides supervisor with material requests to maintain required stock levels; and
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience Only:
  • This position is a weather/event essential position and may require periods of overtime and/or on-call.  Must be willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary;
  • Must be able to perform physical work involving general tasks including hauling, lifting, moving, and digging;
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be willing and able to operate a variety of hand tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must possess a valid and current State of Colorado Driver's License.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: 
  • Must be willing to pass a background check at initial employment and every few years thereafter.
  • Continued employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a security clearance within the first six months of employment.
  • Must be willing to submit to random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to multiple work sites.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and/or on-call as needed.
  • Must be willing to work after hours or pre-hours performing snow removal operations and/or assisting other areas as needed.
