Description

We are hiring a Cost Recovery Case Manager to join our TeksMed team!

As a Cost Recovery Case Manager (WSIB), you will leverage your expertise in Ontario WSIB claims to help employer clients reduce claim costs and maximize cost recovery opportunities. Through comprehensive claim analysis, you will identify and pursue opportunities related to cost relief, cost transfer, entitlement reviews, appeals and objections, claim reserve analysis, and employer rate impact mitigation.

This is a highly specialized role focused on WSIB claim analysis, cost relief, cost transfer, entitlement review, objection support, and employer cost reduction strategies. It is not a traditional disability management or return-to-work coordination position. The successful candidate brings a deep understanding of WSIB legislation, policies, operational practices, and claims adjudication processes, using that expertise to deliver strategic recommendations and achieve meaningful financial outcomes for employer clients.

The Cost Recovery Case Manager will:

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of WSIB claim files to identify cost recovery opportunities.

  • Analyze entitlement decisions and determine potential avenues for cost relief, cost transfer, appeals, objections, and claim cost mitigation.

  • Review claim costs, claim reserves, benefit payments, and entitlement determinations for accuracy and compliance with WSIB policy.

  • Prepare and submit cost recovery, cost relief, and cost transfer requests on behalf of employer clients.

  • Develop strategic recommendations designed to reduce employer claim costs and long-term financial exposure.

  • Monitor active claims and proactively identify opportunities to improve employer outcomes.

  • Liaise directly with WSIB personnel, employer representatives, and other stakeholders regarding claim-related matters.

  • Prepare detailed file reviews, reports, and recommendations for clients and internal leadership.

  • Maintain accurate case notes, activity records, and documentation.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure exceptional service and consistent client outcomes.

To be successful as a Cost Recovery Case Manager with TeksMed, you will need:

  • A minimum two (2) years of direct experience working within the Ontario Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).

  • Previous experience in a WSIB claims adjudication or decision-making role such as: Case Manager, Eligibility Adjudicator, Claims Adjudicator, Return-to-Work Specialist, Case Resolution Specialist, or other comparable WSIB claims management positions.

  • Extensive knowledge of WSIB legislation, policies, operational procedures, and decision-making frameworks.

  • Proven ability to analyze complex claims, identify cost recovery opportunities, and develop strategic recommendations that improve financial outcomes for employer clients.

  • Exceptional analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise, and evidence-based reports and recommendations.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

  • A valid driver's license.

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Enjoy navigating complex claims and uncovering opportunities that others may overlook.

  • Are proactive, strategic, and results-oriented in your approach to claim management.

  • Take pride in delivering exceptional client service while maximizing cost recovery opportunities.

  • Can confidently interpret legislation and policy to support sound, evidence-based decisions.

What's in it for you:

  • Learn by working alongside our experts

  • Extended health care and dental benefits

  • A retirement savings plan with company contributions

  • A suite of Health & Wellness offerings

  • Mental Health programs and support for you and your family

  • Opportunities for professional growth and development

  • Supportive and collaborative team environment

  • The ability to make a measurable impact on employer claim costs and financial performance

  • Manageable caseloads that allow for meaningful, high-quality file analysis.

  • Competitive compensation
