We are supporting an established national organisation with a strategic mandate to oversee the safety and regulatory framework of Greece's offshore energy sector. This is a unique opportunity to lead the country's Competent Authority for offshore safety and play a key role in shaping national policy, regulatory oversight and the safe development of offshore energy activities.

 

Client is seeking to hire a Senior Reservoir Engineer to join its technical / subsurface team and contribute to the evaluation, development and optimization of hydrocarbon and CO₂ storage assets.

The role is responsible for evaluating and optimizing CO₂ injection and/or hydrocarbon recovery through dynamic reservoir simulation, well performance analysis, reserves / injection capacity estimation and industry standard analytical reservoir engineering techniques. Building static geological models, the Senior Reservoir Engineer will perform history-matching, forecast production and injection profiles, and assess development scenarios to support asset value maximization, field development planning and regulatory reporting.

Working closely with geoscientists, and other internal stakeholders, the Senior Reservoir Engineer will provide the technical foundation for influencing development planning and reserves / storage capacity assessments.

As a Senior Reservoir Engineer you will have the opportunity to contribute to our success story by:

• Developing, updating and quality-checking dynamic reservoir simulation models based on geological, petrophysical, production and well data.
• Performing history matching and calibration of reservoir models to ensure reliable forecasting and scenario evaluation.
• Forecasting production and/or injection profiles under different development, operational and technical assumptions.
• Evaluating CO₂ injection performance, storage capacity, pressure behaviour and reservoir containment considerations.
• Assessing hydrocarbon recovery potential and identifying opportunities to optimize field development and asset value.
• Preparing reserves, resources and/or injection capacity estimates to support internal decision-making and regulatory reporting.
• Conducting well performance analysis and supporting the evaluation of well deliverability, injectivity and production constraints.
• Assessing alternative development scenarios, including well placement, injection / production strategies and recovery optimization options.
• Preparing technical reports, presentations and recommendations for management, regulatory and stakeholder discussions.
• Reviewing technical studies, field development plans, reservoir reports and third-party documentation.

 

As part of your role you will have the chance to:

• Work closely with geoscientists, project engineers,  and external technical advisors.
• Support the technical evaluation of hydrocarbon, CO₂ storage and underground storage opportunities.
• Contribute to field development planning, evaluation and regulatory review processes.
• Participate in technical meetings with operators, partners, consultants, authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
• Provide reservoir engineering input to licensing, permitting, development and monitoring discussions.
• Keep abreast of reservoir engineering best practices, CO₂ storage developments and relevant international technical standards.
• Support the development of internal technical knowledge, workflows and documentation related to reservoir engineering and storage assessment.

We would like to hear from you if you have the following Required Qualifications, Skills / Attributes and Working Experience:

• University degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, Chemical Engineering,  Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or another relevant technical discipline.
• Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering,  CCS or a related technical field 
• Significant professional experience in reservoir engineering, preferably in hydrocarbon field development, reservoir simulation, reserves estimation and/or CO₂ storage assessment.
• Strong working knowledge of dynamic reservoir simulation, history matching, production forecasting and development scenario evaluation.
• Experience in well performance analysis, production / injection data interpretation and reservoir performance monitoring.
• Good understanding of reserves, resources and/or storage capacity estimation methodologies.
• Ability to translate complex reservoir engineering analysis into clear technical conclusions and recommendations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and interact with technical, commercial and regulatory stakeholders.
• Full professional capability in Greek and English, with excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications, Attributes and Previous Experience:

• Experience with CO₂ injection, CO₂ storage, underground gas storage or other subsurface storage projects.
• Previous experience with hydrocarbon operators, technical consultancies, regulators or asset evaluation teams.
• Experience in field development planning, investment evaluation and technical due diligence.
• Familiarity with reserves reporting frameworks and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Experience with reservoir simulation and subsurface software such as Eclipse, Petrel RE, CMG, tNavigator or equivalent tools.
• Understanding of geomechanics, pressure management, injectivity, containment and monitoring issues related to CO₂ storage.
• Strong technical writing capability and experience preparing management-level reports and presentations.
• Ability to operate with independence, sound judgement and professional credibility in a technical / regulatory environment.
