Description
Please Note: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, consistent with applicable laws.
2. Follow weekly routine and complete checklists at end of each shift.
3. Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors; operate equipment such as vacuum cleaners.
4. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including floors and fixtures; refill soap, paper, and othersanitary dispensers; ensure adequate levels of restroom supplies.
5. Clean and sanitize sinks, tables, and countertops.
6. Empty trash cans and replace liners; clean receptacles as necessary.
7. Dust and clean office desks and furniture, including chairs.
8. Clean windowsills and windows.
9. Maintain janitor closet(s) in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
10. Monitor inventory of cleaning and sanitizing products to ensure adequate supplies on-handat assigned building.
11. Pick up and dispose of refuse as necessary.
12. Consult Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and follow procedures for the use of chemical cleanersand power equipment; use personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, maskswhen necessary; follow safe practices as required.
13. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees, including workcollaboratively with janitorial staff.
14. Assist in cleaning multiple buildings within the City.
15. Ensure assigned building is adequately secured.
16. Attend trainings as required.
17. Maintain regular, reliable and predictable attendance at work.
18. Perform tasks with minimal or no supervision.
19. Perform other related duties as assigned.
2. The applicant (or employee after hire) must pass a background investigation, including but not limited to a criminal background check to meet requirements for using record networksand protected databases and as may be required by federal or state agencies.
3. Depending on facility assigned, may be required to possess or obtain a valid CPR/First Aidcertificate issued by the American Heart Association (or other approved entity) within thirty(30)days of employment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull and occasionally carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity, including gripping and some fine motor skills, is required to complete most tasks. The employee must occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force.
