Pay: £13.50 per hour
Contract: 3-Month Sick Cover
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm, Friday 8:00am to 1:00pm

About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering company in Hitchin for a Plating Operative to join their manufacturing team on a 3-month sick cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a manufacturing or production environment who takes pride in producing high-quality work and is available to start as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will be involved in electroplating manufactured components using a range of processes including nickel plating and zinc plating. This is a hands-on role that would suit someone with a keen eye for detail who enjoys working in a busy engineering environment.
If you have worked as a Production Operative, Manufacturing Operative, Engineering Operative, Metal Finisher, Surface Finishing Operative, Factory Operative, Assembly Operative, Process Operative or Industrial Operative, your experience could be highly relevant.
What You'll Do

Carry out electroplating processes including nickel plating and zinc plating

Prepare and process manufactured components to the required specifications

Jig and wire components ready for plating

Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards

Read and interpret engineering drawings where required

Follow production schedules and work instructions

Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment

Safely handle components, including regular manual lifting

Work closely with colleagues to meet production deadlines
What We're Looking For

Previous experience working within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment

A proven track record of producing work to high quality standards

Ability to follow instructions and work accurately

Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings would be an advantage

Good manual dexterity for jigging and wiring components

Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and lifting throughout the working day

Excellent attention to detail and a quality-focused approach

Reliable, hardworking and able to work well as part of a team

Available to start as soon as possible
