Project Management Officer - Electrification

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will lead the development and execution of the Project Management Office (PMO) for ABB Electrification Distribution Solutions in Korea. You will be responsible for ensuring successful execution of customer projects involving medium-voltage switchgear, low-voltage switchgear, SCADA systems, electrical houses (E-House), and integrated electrical balance-of-plant packages. You will establish local project management processes aligned with ABB global standards while continuously improving project quality, delivery performance, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. As a member of the Distribution Solutions Korea leadership team, you will contribute to the strategic direction and operational excellence of the entire division.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions Team in South Korea. Main stakeholders are customers, Sales, Engineering, Operations, and the Distribution Solutions leadership team.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Lead and continuously develop the PMO organization, establishing robust project governance, execution methodologies, KPIs, and best practices aligned with ABB global standards.

• Ensure successful execution and delivery of customer projects, managing scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and stakeholder expectations from order handover through final acceptance.

• Coordinate closely with ABB feeder factories, engineering centers, supply chain, commissioning and service teams, and customers to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.

• Drive continuous improvement of project management processes, resource utilization, quality performance, and customer experience, while developing project management capabilities within the organization.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.

• Minimum 8 years of experience managing electrical infrastructure, power distribution, industrial electrification, or EPC projects, with proven experience leading project teams and stakeholders.

• Strong knowledge of medium-voltage switchgear, low-voltage switchgear, SCADA systems, E-House solutions, protection and control systems, or integrated electrical systems.

• Demonstrated experience establishing or improving project management processes, governance frameworks, project controls, and operational excellence programs.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams, drive organizational change, and contribute as a member of a senior leadership team.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working across global organizations, feeder factories, customers, contractors, and service organizations.

• Fluent in Korean and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with local and global stakeholders.
