The purpose of the position is to help improve the comfort, safety, and energy efficiency of homes throughout Southwest Montana while leading a skilled team that makes a lasting difference in the community. Action Inc. is looking for an experienced, safety-minded leader who enjoys solving problems, mentoring others, and taking pride in quality workmanship. This position combines hands-on crew leadership, technical expertise, and office-based administrative responsibilities in the federally funded Weatherization Assistance Program. The position helps ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with program and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead, supervise, coach, and provide appropriate training for Weatherization crew members while promoting safety, accountability, and teamwork.
· Schedule and coordinate daily work with staff, auditors, contractors, and the Weatherization Manager.
· Inspect completed for compliance with program standards, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
· Provide technical training in weatherization, carpentry, diagnostics, and energy conservation measures.
· Coordinate furnace and water heater diagnostics, repairs, installations, and inspections.
· Manage materials, assist with inventory maintenance, and ensure crews have the tools and supplies needed to complete projects.
· Administrative tasks related to purchasing, scheduling, and project record keeping.
· Respond professionally to client concerns and communicate project updates to management.
Requirements
· Experience in weatherization, construction, carpentry, energy conservation, or a related skilled trade.
· Experience leading or supervising crews.
· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· A commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, email, and electronic documentation systems.
· Ability to obtain an Energy Auditor certification within 24 months of hire.
· Valid Montana driver's license, insurable driving record, reliable transportation, and ability to be bondable.
